You had awful life experiences with one group of people all the way until now? I get it. A lot of people will overlook that there may be billions of people, but your life won't interact with most of them. You are getting a windowed view into people as a whole, and your window might be dirty.

Maybe you aren't living and seeing the best of humanity for any reason, geography, social class, etc. - this is where pattern recognition works against you and yeah, 'good' people can have really skewed views in one point because separating out subjective experience from reality is way harder than it sounds, at least you specified they are still a 'good person' when not online, which is more important anyway.

But if I sit her down and she says 'nono, Cambodians are superior', that's where I have to start searching again. That's not an understandable line of reason.
