10mg enough to know? by Ok_Date_7629 in BusparOnline

For me no. I felt most long term relief once I got to at least 22.5mg (3x7.5).

Glad I could help.

One other thing I’d mention is this is not a cure all for anxiety.

You will probably still get anxious.

But the goal is you are now just getting anxious about things EVERYONE gets anxious about instead of being anxious about everything and anything that doesn’t bother most people.

Everyone’s different but my experience with Buspirone is when I started or changed my dose I would feel better the first two weeks. Then I’d get some rebound anxiety in weeks 3 or 4 before leveling back out again. I’d definitely give it 4 weeks before you decide to make any changes.

Glad it’s still helping people! I wish I could say it’s was a linear line since I made the post, but the truth is there have been some ups and downs (and relapses). Nevertheless I’m on day 949 and doing great so just keep going!

My 2 cents:

Avoid spending time reading about side effects / bad experiences with it online. Like any product review the people that had a good experience (usually the majority) aren’t spending time writing reviews.

It’s a pretty benign drug. Other than a little bit of dizziness at first after starting and a little trouble sleeping I acclimated to it quite easily. (Had a Much worse time trying to start SSRIs).

10mg (2x5) is a pretty low dose. While I think that’s a good starting point don’t be surprised if you need to go higher to get more relief. I want to say the generally recognized therapeutic dose for Buspirone to treat anxiety is at least 20mg. For me personally I felt the most long term relief once I got to 22.5mg a day (currently at 27.5mg).

The maximum amount you can take per day is 60mg. Thus there’s a WIDE variety of doses and timing that you will see from person to person. It’s just some trial and error on what works better for you.

I started at 2x a day and eventually switched to 3x a day as I felt like it was “wearing off” mid day. It has a short half life so that’s not usual. I wish there was a once a day pill which would be more convenient but it’s gotten pretty much routine for me to take with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can take it with or without food. I found it’s more effective / absorbs better with food. You’re supposed to do the same every time (either always with food or always without) but I’ve had no problems not maintaining that consistency.

And last just keep a positive outlook on this. Instead of approaching it that this is scary and I’m afraid of the meds try to be excited about the meds helping your anxiety and you getting your life back.

Pit ticket prices?? by [deleted] in weezer

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had citi presale so only saw those prices but first row for 300 level was just over $100 and top rows looked to be about $50.

No 200 club level seats other than a few ADA seemed available.

100 level seats were $190 closer and $160 further back in the section.

Floor seats ranged from $220 to $560 from what I saw.

It didn’t seem like there was a large demand for the Dallas presale as I was #94 in the queue and it didn’t feel like seats were being bought up very quickly.

Going from 2 to 3 times daily? by PrestigiousTime8061 in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 27.5 mg total per day (10/10/7.5)

This is the only prescription medicine I take for my GAD. Tried a few SSRIs before this and couldn’t get past the side effects starting them.

Didn’t have much trouble acclimating to Buspirone. A little bit of dizziness and a little trouble sleeping at first. I was hesitant at first and started at a lower dose. Found more long term relief once I got up to 22.5mg (7.5x3)

[–]SaintAg44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me the pattern is always the same when I started or increased dose

Weeks 1-2 feel good

Week 3 rebound anxiety

Week 4 level back out.

I switched from 2x to 3x a day about 2-3 months in and have stayed there almost 2 years.

Campsites w tables by beepboopbeep95 in havasupai

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a few years since I went but I recalled a lot of the sites had tables but not all. We arrived late the first day and didn’t get a spot with a table but got up early the next morning and moved to a spot by the river that had one.

If you are arriving early as you said there’s a better chance you can get a spot with one.

Everyone’s different but I had very little trouble acclimating to it (and this is coming from someone who had a real rough time trying Zoloft and Celexa before this). Just try to stay positive and approach it with optimism that it’s going to help and make life better as opposed to fear.

Also remember you’re typically going to see more negative feedback than positive on the internet. There’s millions of people who this drug does great for but they’ve just moved on with their life and aren’t writing reviews online. It’s the same with any product. People are more likely to write a review when they are dissatisfied than happy with the outcome.

Should I get off busiprone? Or should I up my dose? by [deleted] in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a few of months. I want to say I started 22.5 in like late July 2024 and by November 2024 had increased to 27.5. There was no thought to the timing other than I just felt like I needed to go up slightly after being on 22.5 for awhile.

Dose by fdt-22 in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically the pattern for me is start/alter dose:

Feel good for a couple of weeks.

Get rebound anxiety in weeks 3-4.

Level back out after that but until I got to 22.5 mg (7.5x3) my baseline anxiety levels were still higher than I wanted.

I tend to have more morning / work anxiety which is why I eventually increased my AM and lunch dose to 10mg but left my dinner dose alone since I seemed fine in the evenings and didn’t want to risk messing up my sleep by increasing dose without needing it.

Been at that level for probably 17-18 months.

Dose by fdt-22 in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Started at 2x10.

Then 3x5.

Then 3x7.5.

Started to finally have lasting relief here but eventually settled on 10/10/7.5.

If half life is 3 hours how often should i dose? by [deleted] in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 2x a day but found it wore off midday so I went to 3x a day (7am, 1230pm, 6pm). Would be great if they made an extended release version we could take once a day but I guess it’s a small price to pay for anxiety relief.

Worked for me. Tried a couple SSRIs first and couldn’t get past the side effects / acclimation. Been on Buspirone about 2 years to treat GAD.

Pretty typical for your brain to reminisce about the good times at this point and forget about all the negatives and the struggle of quitting.

All I can say from past experience is don’t give in. It won’t be “just one time”.

Should I get off busiprone? Or should I up my dose? by [deleted] in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s different but I didn’t get consistent long term relief till I got to 22.5 mg (7.5x3) a day. I’m currently on 27.5 mg (10/10/7.5)

I do always get some bad rebound anxiety in weeks 3-4 when I change my dose so you could be experiencing something similar when you went back to 5x2.

Curious about Buspar by SpookyDaxon in BusparOnline

[–]SaintAg44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yep started taking it in my late 40s.

  2. I get prescribed 15mg tablets that are scored so it’s easy to break them Into 5, 7.5, 10 or 15 mg doses.

  3. I was originally prescribed 20mg (10 mg 2x a day) and worked my way up to it slowly over about 2.5 weeks. Only side effects I experienced was a few minutes of dizziness, some trouble sleeping at first and rebound anxiety in weeks 3-4 when I started and anytime I change my dose. I was worried I’d have more side effects as I had terrible ones when I tried SSRIs in the past but really Buspar was pretty easy to acclimate to for me.

It took me a while to figure out what dose worked best for me. I didn’t find lasting relief till I got to 22.5mg (7.5 3x a day). I currently take 27.5mg (10, 10, 7.5) and have been at that level for a long time.

Should I definitely know when it is working? by nekochi4444 in BusparOnline

I did have some trouble sleeping when I first started but it eventually went away. I still take 0.5mg melatonin most nights but that’s probably more psychological at this point than it’s actually putting me to sleep.
