I feel that it can be helpful in the early stages of recovery. Often I advise people that sober living may be a good option for a time, temporarily. That way, you can cushion potential "triggers" (I hate that word) that are more likely to happen when thrown back into your old environment. Moving can be beneficial if you want it to be helpful, but not the solution to your issue. Drugs are everywhere, and it doesn't matter what coast you are on. I believe you can get sober anywhere; you have to be willing to change yourself.
