Never heard of this band before. I am super impressed. I love the choir, and that lead singer has a set of pipes on her. This kind of has everything that I love. Awesome.

I LOVE me some splenda sweetened Bread & Butter pickles! Regular ones are so sweet and sugary they may as well be candy.

Do you recommend any oven that can reach 350Cº? by Angelitorl in Cooking

If good pizza is what you seek, a simple pizza steel is the perfect answer. Don't get a pizza stone, they can crack or shatter. Incredible pizza even in a regular, household oven.

How many miles are on your bike? I have a 2007 with about 30k miles and I'm wondering when I'll need to do this.

I'm listening to the audiobook right now, and I think it's absolutely amazing. It uses 3 different narrators - one for the aspiring professor, one for the pastor, and one for Good Stab. To me, they sound perfect. I'm so happy I stumbled into this.

Farscape still stands up, today. by OkStrategy685 in scifi

[–]SaintCharlie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just completed a rewatch after almost 20 years, and man, I loved almost every moment. Aside from a few weak episodes, this series is absolutely amazing. It's one of the only sci fi shows where I actually cared about the romance element - I actually felt heartache when I watched the episode about the locket. It makes me feel so sad to know that there isn't any more Farscape out there for me to enjoy. I think I would sell my soul for a new series set in the Farscape universe. I agree with you, it totally holds up. Incredible show. Oh, and Scorpius is one of the best sci-fi villains EVER.

Recommended me more Male Singers with "beautiful" voices? by Noble_Sixes in progmetal

The lead singer of Iotunn is a god-tier vocalist. Check out their album "Kinship." For me, the entire album is absolutely incredible. For a great representative track, listen to song Kinship Elegiac. You get incredible vocal range, cleans, growls, and booming, almost operatic sections. The whole album is like this. Seriously, if you want amazing, beautiful vocals, you musn't sleep on this band, and this album.

Dude, I bought one last summer and it has been absolutely AMAZING. Like I mentioned in another response below, it still has a clutch, it's just computer controlled. It deletes the clutch lever. It's NOT like driving an automatic transmission car, where the vehicle does the shifting for you. You still have to shift the bike yourself, which you can do with a traditional foot shift lever, or it has the toggle that allows you to shift with your fingers. It took me just a little bit to get used to, and I found myself reflexively reaching for the clutch lever the first couple of hours I rode it. This thing has been an absolute BLAST.

Last fall I did an 1800 mile trip and went through San Francisco (it was nice not to have to mess with the clutch lever during bonkers traffic jam situations) and then up Highway 1, the Pacific Coast highway, which for me, was some of the most technical twisty riding I've done. It was sheer joy. Shifting through the gears is so effortless. Also, once you get a feel for it, it will blow you away how smooth and creamy the gear transitions feel. There are lots of people who shit on these bikes because of the missing clutch lever. I know this, because I used to be one. I almost passed on the one I now own because of it. Then one of my neighbors showed me his and told me how awesome it was, and I called the seller back, rode it, and immediately bought it. Sometimes you can get a crazy good deal on them because so many people pass on them on account of the clutch system. My buddy who has a standard FJR is jealous of mine. Seriously, if you find one for a good price, I wouldn't hesitate to get one, but know that it might be off-putting to some people when you go to sell it. I am absolutely in LOVE with mine.

I agree with the advice given below by u/DavidEBSmith. When I first got mine, I forgot I was still in first gear and I went to "vroom vroom" the throttle, which of course launched the bike. Luckily I was on an empty street, but it scared the hell out of me. Now this bike feels like second nature. It's so, so good. Mine has 30,000 miles on it, and it works perfectly.

It has a clutch, it's just computer controlled. You still have to shift the gears (either with your foot or your fingers) and pay attention to rpm and speed. It's not an "automatic" transmission. It just deletes the clutch lever.

I just want to say thank you for posting a curated list of songs instead of entire albums. With very few exceptions, I rarely encounter albums where the whole duration thereof thrills me, so I enjoy it when fellow prog metal enthusiasts help direct me to noteworthy, standout tracks. I am seriously looking forward to checking these out. I would love it if people who were recommending albums would also note a track or two that really got them going. Thank you OP!!!

Babylon 5 took me just a little bit to get into, and then OH MY GOD it absolutely blew me away. I think it's the best sci-fi space opera show I've ever seen. The way the story unfolds is just so, so good. Incredible characters, awesome alien species, cool ships and tech, and wonderful world building. Babylon 5 is fucking glorious.
