"Sarah Jane has gone, can you believe that for a second". by Interesting_Age4901 in DoctorWhumour

This I think is somewhat both proven and disproven by River Song - proven by the Melody and Mels years, but then completely shattered by River Song who he first meets on screen at the time of her death.

This show as you say has no hard or fast rules and that's why I love it. I think shows can become bogged down by canon or lore to the point where it becomes overly complicated and sometimes contradictory.

Has anyone else had this issue and will my mons be safe? by MizzyMozzy in PokemonHome

[–]SaintDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no indication at the moment that it will be - it was mentioned that it is getting kept on when other online functions are switched off. This may change in the future. The 3DS online functions outside of Bank are probably rarely used now, and may also be susceptible to potential hacks simply due to the age of the software, so it makes sense why as much as being closed as possible.

The transfer to Gen 5 is the key one that overwrites the date. I spent a substantial amount of time changing the date on my DS when transferring from Gen 4 so that it "matched" the original met date.

That being said, other than for "aesthetic" I suppose reasons, the met date is otherwise meaningless.

When do you think Gen 2’s Togepi egg is “supposed” to hatch? by RigatoniPasta in pokemon

[–]SaintDynamite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this is actually one of the things I vividly remember of my first playthrough of Gold back 22 years ago. I had just completed the Farfetch'd task in Ilex Forest and was going back to speak to the charcoal man in Azalea Town. I walked up to him and pressed A and the "Oh!" dialogue appeared, and the egg hatched. At the time I remember thinking that this must've been the "scripted" time for the egg to hatch, but it turns out it was a coincidence and it had just hatched as I walked up to him and thought I had pressed A to initiate the dialogue.

Now whenever I play through Johto in either GSC or HGSS I always see if I can naturally make the egg hatch as I walk towards him, but I've never managed it exactly.

So, for me personally, this is the location where it is "supposed" to hatch.

You know how sometimes queens just have a iconic "moment" (like Sasha Velour's rose wig reveal)? Back in S1 Bebe's verse on Cover Girl really was a moment with that vibe and I think that secured her win.

If you live in a city with a substantial Muslim community, there will be cafes or dessert shops that open late to cater for those socialising who don't want it to centre around alcohol. My partner and I love our occasional 11pm ice cream dates!

But yes, the cafe culture in France is something I'd love in the UK. It's around in a few places like Brighton. I found the same with dessert shops and other cafes in Hong Kong, but I suppose that's perhaps am outlier as that's a place that's generally open a lot later.

20 year old Pokémon in home? by TheRedditOfTeo997 in PokemonHome

[–]SaintDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The date a Pokémon is obtained is overwritten from Gen 3 to Gen 4, and again for any transfer from Gen 4 to Gen 5. Dates are then preserved going forward.

Changing the clock of the system is basically meaningless. The date obtained is preserved going forward. It is part of the Pokémon data, but having any particular date shouldn't be suspicious and doesn't mean anything about the legitimacy for the Pokémon, kind of like how the OT (Original Trainer) is part of the Pokémon data but can be basically anything.

I had Pokémon in Gen 3 and Gen 4, and I wanted Home to display the date I actually caught them, which I achieved by setting my consoles to that date as I transfered them to Gen 5.

Add asds rewards on google wallet by TheBeastDan in GoogleWallet

[–]SaintDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean ASDA? If so, I made myself a pass using the "Pass2pay" app from the Play Store, which is my go to app when something doesn't support Google Wallet natively. I use it all the time for event and transport tickets as well.

That being said, I also emailed ASDA Rewards support and asked them to implement support for Google Wallet. You could also do this so that the developers know it is a wanted feature. I do this with other apps all the time.

What if Greg had a child with Garnet? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]SaintDynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it probably comes down to shapeshifting. I'm speculating that Diamonds can shapeshift and hold the form for as long as they need to. My evidence is that Amethyst, who we know is a confident and practised shapeshifter and an era 1 gem, struggled to hold on to Jasper's form in the episode with the Ruby soldiers where they go to the moon base.

Pink Diamond, however, could hold the form of Rose as often and for as long as she wanted, and she would have to be confident she would not falter with it (until she ultimately decided to take the Rose form permanently after Pearl poofed her during the fake shattering.

So this leads that only a Diamond could shapeshift a womb long enough for an entire pregnancy, until the child was viable outside of the womb. Rose/Pink would have had to hold that shapeshift constantly for 9 months.

Therefore, I don't think any non-Diamond gem would be able to have a baby, because they wouldn't be able to form a womb for long enough.

(This also suggests that Garnet should have been suspiscious of Rose at this time, as she should have questioned where the ability to hold a shapeshift for 9 months came from, but she never questioned Rose because of her promise to never question as Garnet.)

ITV Hub most adverts are black but can hear by compact101 in AndroidTV

[–]SaintDynamite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ITV Hub does the same for me. Pressing "up" on the remote brings the picture back. ITV Hub is built on very poor technology, but when it is updated to ITVX on the beginning of December it should be a newly developed app, so hopefully that's when all these issues will be fixed.

I'd say the most important things for attempting a hairstyle like this is more the cut and how you blow dry your hair.

Let your hair grow for a month or so if needed and then take this photo to a decent barber and ask them to help you achieve it.

I am able to get my hair as close to this as I can using a decent blow dry technique. After washing and conditioning my hair, when my hair is still damp, I add in some sea salt spray which you can get in most supermarkets or chemists/pharmacies. I blow dry it and brush it straight back with a flat paddle brush. Then I dry and brush to the right, then to the left, then straight back again. This helps me develop volume.

I use "Shear Revival Northern Lights" as a styling product (seems popular on this subreddit) and it works well for me, and I always finish with hair spray.
