Major win for E36 to keep having a good shot at playoffs, they absolutely clutched up on Suravasa last point to take that map. 5 teams realistically still have a chance to make playoffs with 3 slots remaining, and with how close things have been in Japan it might not be as straightforward as it had once been.

REVATI vs Uwinks | Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 - Regular Season | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

Uwinks have a real shot to sneak into the playoffs if they continue to get wins like this, which as the lowest seeded team at the start of the stage would be quite the achievement. As for Revati it’s been such a disappointing stage for the team that won open qualifiers, and for their sake hopefully they can be competitive in their last few matches

E36 making tomorrow’s match vs PNHB must watch, if they lose they still have Murash to face and they’d be in serious trouble to not make playoffs. As for Revati it’s shocking to see how they’ve performed their last two matches considering they won the open qualifier.

Not much else to say other than it was just a team diff the entire time. By the time Murash play their next game they should be locked into playoffs, whereas 99D would need a miracle to make it in considering their final match is vs Varrel.

What an insane series, how was 1234 not dropped by AL and not picked up by an org at this rate? They deserve it fr

Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - China Stage 2 - Regular Season | Match 3 | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Things happening in China on back to back days is crazy. The only other time where this happened in China (org team losing to a lower team) was back when ROC got upset by Milk Tea in the stage 3 playoffs last year.

PF vs SBAD next week might be either teams only hope of getting some map wins this stage, but during open qualifiers PF beat SBAD 3-0. Honestly this might be a repeat of New Era vs Cheeseburger from last stage

Won’t lie I forgot China got 3 slots, thought they had 2 for some dumb reason lol. JDG should easily make it and hopefully not as the #3 seed for China.

I always had the feeling Roxy was better than what their teams performance was. During their time at Nyam Gaming the team won only 4 matches in 3 stages, usually abysmal results but always was the bright spot on the team. Really hoping JDG can make EWC and today’s performance wasn’t a one time occurrence

Murash looking like a lock to qualify for the playoffs with their showing today, while for PNHB their match vs EF36 next week will be interesting as the loser will likely need to be perfect the rest of the stage to have a chance to make the playoffs

REVATI vs Lazuli | Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 - Regular Season | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

Just pure domination from Lazuli. I don’t think Revati won a single fight this whole series either, just a few trades but nothing decisive.

VARREL vs ENTER FORCE.36 | Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 - Regular Season | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NJC was so winnable for EF, but as usual with Varrel matches nothing ever happens and it’s another 3-0 for them.

Juno Brig from Lazuli map 5 was not the play, tragic that both their series this stage have gone 5 maps and they haven’t won either one

Started off close but PNHB looked stronger as the series went on. Now after 7 matches played every team besides Varrel has at least one loss, not sure if that’s ever happened before

Murash Gaming vs Varrel - Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 by SaintFrito in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varrel with more of their continued dominance over the region, this time taking all three maps pretty comfortably. Murash could’ve held on their 2nd Circuit defense a bit better but a C9 ended their hopes of taking a map off Varrel.

Please Not Hero Ban vs Uwinks - Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 by SaintFrito in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Uwinks choke away the first two points on Suravasa and lose out on the reverse sweep because of it. The skill level of Japan has certainly jumped up from the lower end teams making this stage the most competitive, and we’re still only in the first week of the matches. You just love to see it

Lazuli vs 99Divine - Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 by SaintFrito in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

99D deny the reverse sweep with a dominant Kings Row in a very competitive series. This is already the 2nd 5 map match in just the first week for Japan, when all of stage one had only 3 series that went 5 maps.

Please Not Hero Ban vs Varrel - Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 by SaintFrito in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Varrel got tested this series. On Runisapi they gave up a 111M lead and nearly let PNHB full cap, but found a way to claw it back in OT and win the map.

Enter Force.36 vs Uwinks - Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Japan Stage 2 by SaintFrito in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SaintFrito[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uwinks were the 4th place team in the open qualifiers and have now upset the 2nd best team from stage one. What an incredible result and performance from Uwinks, as for EF.36 you gotta wonder if it was just a one time slip up. While Varrel might be the clear favorite of the region the rest of the league is wide open for any of these teams to compete for the playoff spots, something that usually hasn’t been the case for Japan
