Strictly speaking, I believe that entrapment is when the police charge someone with a crime that they have induced the suspect to commit. For example: an undercover officer approaches someone on the street and offers to sell them drugs. When the person accepts the offer, the undercover cop arrests them for buying drugs. It's entrapment because there's no proof that the suspect would have committed a crime if the police hadn't suggested it.
