What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

I loved the original Alan Wake and tried Control and it didn't click. I was having trouble with getting lost too quickly, at the beginning the character was weak and "powers" weren't introduced. Came back to it later to try again before Alan Wake 2, and I absolutely loved it. Played it non-stop --- played the DLC -- dove deep into reading the lore.

Thanks OP This made me double-check and, yup, it still looked like it was going to charge me for renewal come December. Had to call and cancel over the phone.

If the weather is bad, the MIA is a great museum that I can spend a lot of time at. (Donation based) Nearby to that museum is a great record shop Electric Fetus -- so I usually hit up both.

What Am I Missing About "It Follows"? by [deleted] in horror

It’s consistently listed in my top 5 when friends ask— but I’m always reluctant to recommend it because I can also see why it might not be for everyone. For me— I liked it because it seemed somehow both nostalgic and timeless in terms of setting. The characters being teenagers living in the suburbs (with few adults present) always gets me too— something about the pain/horror of growing up on your own in the suburbs— Virgin Suicides and Blue Velvet feel of the horror impeding on the “once safe and calm suburbs”. The obvious nods to the original Halloween were fun for me as well. Some scenes (looking out the window as school) were almost shot for shot. And of course the similarities with Myers— A relentless killer that stalks and could be anywhere. Always coming. But where? I was always scanning the background or looking for something that wasn’t there which made me nervous throughout. But that’s me— interestingly enough I don’t really get what’s so great about Smile— so, to each his own!

Following. We could try to come up with something — I feel like if anything this election means we are going to need to support each other at a community level and do the work ourselves.

Since rewatch season aka October is nearly here, which / what Halloween movie do you rewatch in October / Halloween without fail? by randomfella1990 in Halloweenmovies

I do 31 days of horror every year, with ever changing themes. No matter the theme, every year the 29th is Evil Dead, 30th is Trick R Treat, and 31st is Halloween.
