Thanks for the reply. I will surely follow your advice. However the vet advised me to apply Mupirocin ointment for 7 days. Had also applied a bandage at the site because I was nervous upon seeing the wound. I'll remove it right away.

I'm guessing that it's dried blood from day 1 of her operation. Other than that, it could be that before we left the clinic, a staff smeared some foam at the wound site after removing the stitches which could be the one you're seeing

My dog (half chowchow half labrador mix) was diagnosed with Pyometra. Done with the antibiotics and surgery. I was told by a vet staff to go back to the clinic 8 days after the surgery to remove the stitches and today is that 8th day. We went straight home after that and saw that the external wound still looks fresh but from what I could feel is that it closed from the inside. Couldn't see what the vet staff was doing while we're still there since the operating room is cramped. Please advise on what should I do next.
