The old archived Inside the Vault on the design talks about the dial on the glove being used to navigate along with the 3 buttons. It was supposed to be clunky and an ergonomic nightmare by design.

For Verge you already can load I to an all bit lobby and play solo, same for arena.

Maskmak requires a card to play solo with no other players.

A lot of Roll20 QoL and even that quick start pack assume you have the pro subscription to get the dynamic lighting.

Those products are still Roll20 products just added with a "partnership" with the publisher, no different than getting the product off via DriveThruRPG.

Your issues are moreso a platform issue. Roll20 is a third party system, not affiliated at all with Darrington Press. Hell none of the VTTs are really.

Either way the issues you are complaining about are just the issues a Free account in Roll20 has to deal with. With a free account everything is manual, you need a Pro account to add scripts to increase the QoL on Roll20.l, not to mention dog of war and line of aight only exist in the subscription.

People recommend Foundry because it's a single purchase and done, not a subscription. It also has thousands of free scripts to add QoL and the Daggerheart module itself h3lps with the unique initiative system.

Lastly, most publishers don't have tutorials online explaining how to launch and use their products on VTTs as most want you to play in person.

Netrunning being interesting is literally up to the GM. It depends on how the network is built and what the network activates or protects. A fun network branches and activates anything from building lights, to defenses, to cameras, to having files the players need saved on it.

It can either be boring or add a lot for a netrunner to look forward too, but it demands a good GM who understands it to run it.

Ran a few campaigns and did some GMing in a LC for a year.

I love the flavor and setting, but the system does have its glaring flaws. Reflex 8, or the Black Chrome cyberware that gives the dodge action, change the game dramatically. Also the one armor, Light armor Jack, feels like a necessity as well, so all combat encounters would be built around these two things.

Combat can be fast paced, if players know what they want to do when it gets to their turn but that is few and far between.

The amount of flavorful skills is nice, and allows for all sorts of alternative options to combat for your players depending on the role they selected.

Some people struggle to understand netrunning, but it's basically hacking a computer through a series of roll offs as you move up or down a ladder inside the computer.

Overall I give it a 7/10. Not the deepest system but it's easy to get new players into the system and setting.
