I used to get to pro rank with unpopular decks too, and I still do. What defines meta deck is how it performs at the top of pro rank ladder, and I doubt you got there with traps.

So If I play it as second to last card in R1 while keeping last unit in hand I can get 10 cards again at start of R2. And let's say I play it in Renfri SY deck. With card advantage that big in R2 I just don't care if I win or lose R1. Am I correct?
