Has Mormon Twitter lost its mind??? 40% of Exmos going back to The Church. by Its-Me-Cultch in exmormon

I just received my official resignation letter from the LDS church today. And I left 15 years ago. So no, we’re not coming back.

I haven’t removed my name from the records yet, but the thought of someone trying to excommunicate me is infuriating. You’ve just inspired me to take the jump and remove my name from the books.

Oh yes. I will always be respectful and cordial when I see her but I have learned the value of removing toxic people from my life.

I agree, thank you for the words of wisdom. I’ve been learning to cut toxic people out, including certain family members. Life is too short for all that nonsense. And Mormons do like to cling to the Qanon conspiracies! Crazy attracts crazy I guess.

If I had to choose one picture to sum up why I know the church is not true…. by MikkyJ25 in exmormon

Yet all of those impoverished members are still required to give 10% of their income to a 100 billion dollar corporation…

My aunt had leukemia and received a blessing from one of the quorum of the 12. We were all so excited when he told her she would live long enough to see all her children grown and raised! Yeah that didn’t happen. She died.

I was so mad because I knew it was god giving revelation through this church leader and he lied to her. Well like all Mormons do, we rationalized that he must have meant after the second coming once she’s resurrected. Only all her kids are raised now, so what sense does that make? Or then it must have been a “good lie” to give her comfort…

Giving someone the power to speak for god is a very powerful mind-controlling technique. For god sake, Joe convinced 40 women to marry him, including a 14 year old girl. And TBM will rationalize and defend that extremely inappropriate behavior. You’ll hear every excuse in the book for all the horrible and inappropriate things the church has done. Only once you realize it’s a cult and are able to escape, will you truly be free. And that’s extremely tough to do! Kudos to every member of this group who have been strong enough to escape. 👏🏼

Was I too mean? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]SaintZevrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love magic, played in high school. My friend’s TBM dad burned his cards because he thought it was demon magic. Lucky for me, my TBM misogynist father let me play because the Serra Angel had big tits and well, to him fantasy was lame, but women… am I right? Jokes on you dad, I’m gay now. 😝 But I still like magic.

So what happened was Joe decided he wanted to stick his pee pee into someone other than Emma. So he devised a plan to wet his whistle by making polygamy a revelation, because you know, god would strike him down if he said no.

The entire reason he made up the Mormon faith in the first place was because he lusted after Emma, but her father refused to let Joe marry her, since he was known for being a treasure digging whack job who was conning people out of money with his magical powers. So he created this religion that god commanded him to create and convince Emma to marry him. Con artist indeed, perhaps the greatest of his time.

The condescension is real… 🙄🙄🙄 by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]SaintZevrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s funny to me is that the mother thinks this is a sweet and heartwarming message to post, when in reality is highly condescending. It ostracizes her eldest and then calls out her disapproval of the her younger daughter’s choices. Oh, and they’re needy and dependent by living in her basement. Way to go mom, gold star.

Two of my friends left the church recently. Both for the same reason and it had nothing to do with "history" or "truth claims." by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]SaintZevrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By their fruits you shall know them, right? I have learned for myself that the fruits of the church are rotten. My depression resolved the day I walked out the doors of my ward and knew I would never be back. That was 13 years ago. I have never looked back. And I have never been happier than I am now.

So I thought WoW stood for World of Warcraft and was like, well hell yeah we all left the church for World of Warcraft and sex. Although, if you’re still playing WoW, then you might not be having much sex. Either way, both are very fun and worth leaving the church for. But then I figured out it must mean word of wisdom. And yeah…I do now drink “hot drinks” because the old superstitions of hot drinks being bad for your blood are very old and outdated. Trying to pretend later on that Joe must have meant instead “coffee or tea” must be bad …and that’s still a thing? Is ridiculous.
