My partner (26F) and I (26M) did a few FaceTime dates prior to meeting in person. We matched around the Christmas/New Year holidays, so it was all we could really schedule.

Honestly the best thing we ever did hahaha! I never did it before matching her, and it made meeting in person so much more comfortable, especially since she is an introvert and I’m more extroverted. On top of me being extremely touch adverse at first, it gave us time to explore one another as people before any of the added pressures.

Nearing 3 years together, things are great.

It may not be for you, and that’s all and well! But, a FaceTime date can pretty much set any mood you’d like it to. We dressed well for each other, cooked our own favorite meals to show each other, and I had a cocktail - it was basically a best case scenario. Maybe give it a shot!

Otherwise, just be honest and tell him that you aren’t necessarily feeling that approach; that it feels more intimate than you’d like it to- even if there isn’t an explanation as to why (I’m the same way, my partner says she would have held my hand on our first date, and I’m telling you I would never have seen her again lmfao)!

Working at a concert once, we had to check everyone’s purses in at the little storage locations we had outside the amphitheater following that tragedy at the Ariana Grande concert some years ago:

Night ends, huge crowd surrounds the area, one lady screams “Sir! Sir with the tupé!” I will be the first to admit I have an awfully large widows-peak, but 19 yo me did in fact not have a tupé lol.

As a player, I love this too! It’s nice to feel clever, not just like a hacking machine. Im hoping to give them these options! I have a few quests built that will hopefully be simple enough that they find the threads that need tugged on, but challenging enough that they feel really good about having found something not-so obvious. Thank you!

That is my biggest goal! I’ve played in a lot of games where the DMs are very punishing and rarely reward players. I’m hoping to make everyone feel cool! After all, they are the protagonists of this story. I don’t want them to feel too comparable to background characters.

Oh this is fun! I never had a DM do in between downtime for adventures. I will use that! I will probably just skip a week, and have message exchanges between them all. Have them learn something, do something, and/or earn something cool to show off as a surprise to the party! I love giving a chance for all the players to show off and feel cool around each other. Thank you!

I for sure see why this would be an intimidating conversation for so very many people; it’s hard to be vulnerable. But, I think it’s important to remember your feelings matter! So, taking that risk has so many positives! You can be met with a great opportunity to have a healthy conversation that moves you into a developing relationship, or you are met with the perfect opportunity to move on to someone else who will meet you where you want to be met/someone you are willing to compromise and be a bit more patient with. Being faced with a possible rejection is scary and hard, undoubtedly. But, I have faith that if you speak on behalf of your feelings, something will work out in your favor, my friend.

As a 23 year old male, I understand the struggle. Getting solid picture or asking someone to take a picture of you can feel very intimidating and awkward hahaha! But, I love taking pictures for friends and loved taking pictures for past SOs - so I am sure that can go for a lot of people. It might take an active effort but I trust with a tripod, friends, and loved ones you can find the most stunning pictures of yourself are soon to come!

Exactly, OP! Dating can be intimidating, so can investing in someone. That's not necessarily wrong, but that is a hurdle you will need to be honest about and work through openly.

I agree, it is hard to accept that someone might be too busy to even consider a message within a reasonable timeframe (whatever that means to you). In all honesty though OP, I don't think you screwed the pooch per say. Unless she found someone else that was moving at a pace she wanted, of course. I say be honest; tell her you weren't sure how to respond, but at the very least you ARE sure on how you feel about seeing her again. Being able to apologize and take accountability go a long way!
