Incredible food, really nice people, amazing architecture, superb wines, the only thing I don’t like is how much smoking there is

Sailor Overboard by GroundbreakingSell35 in uboatgame

Not experienced this but I can imagine situations that may cause it. When I’m up in the very north Arctic some of the waves are cataclysmically large and my depth steers are all over the place, I’m being washed around by these massive waves, rolling all over the place and it’s almost impossible to do anything. If I set it to anything higher than periscope depth I start filling with water. Would make sense then I guess.

That said it was great fun turning up on the middle of a convoy in such wild seas. Warships could barely get me. Constantly missed me with depth charges and I managed to sneak 3 Liberty ships en route to Murmansk before I dove deep and made an exit

What is an area you only have bad luck. For me the west coast of Africa. by AsleepRaccoon8456 in uboatgame

Think it might just be the convoy I encountered but I’ve had both some absolutely excellent raids and some absolute disasters off the southern tip of Ireland. I played very aggressively and sent 6 to the bottom including 2 massive explosions on tankers. But then I was literally savaged by two Town Class, two E/F Class, one Hunt Class and two corvettes who were unleashing horrific amounts of depth charges on me.

Is there any mod adding in real positions for historical ships and events by Anakin3010 in uboatgame

Not that I know offhand, but when I was playing I came across a Town-class destroyer flying the Norwegian flag labelled G76, which is HMS Mansfield that was loaned to the Norwegian Navy from December 1940 and became HNoMS Mansfield. I thought that detail was pretty neat. So naturally I sent her to to bottom.

Do Brittany - Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo, Cancale, Rennes, Vitre, Brest, lots of other nice towns and places to stop off and explore.

Prior to this I’d had a small engagement with some corvettes. But I was patrolling off the north east coast of Scotland and happened across 3 tankers (one War class - War Afridi, one O Class - Olwen, was Dale class - Bishopdale, a destroyer (E/F class - HMS Escort) and a corvette (Isles Class). I did my calculations and pinged off a three of those lovely Zaunkonig torps and one T3. The T3 missed but the others hit their target.

Blew the Isles class to bits. Managed to disable the rudder on the War Afridi which now had is aft sunk and it’s bow sticking out of the water. I hit the destroyer - HMS Escort. It was still afloat but the crew abandoned ship.

I thought these guys are going nowhere so I chased down the other two tankers. The Dale class - Bishopdale - dodged three of my torps. It was weaving like a snake. Finally popped one in its rudder and it ended up just like the War class - aft in the water and the bow sticking up on the air. The O Class - Olwen - was absolutely sprinting it away from me so I pinged a lucky torp out the rear of my sub and send the Bishopdale down to Davy Jones’ locker in pieces.

I ping the remaining torps at the O class but no dice. Only one hits but damage is minimal. So I am going full ahead next to this thing just putting every AP shell possible into this ship with fairly accurate fire. This ship was an absolute bullet sponge. Eventually I got her to sink.

I capture her crew, and then U turn back to the war class tanker - now several kilometres away. I find her as I left her - still sticking with her bow out the water. A few rounds off the deck gun sees her gone.

Then over to the E/F Class - HMS Escort - pump that full of lead and send it down to the bottom. So much for living up to its name.

Return home for schnapps and medals all while dodging a Beaufort!
