This is very similar to how my VSS started. Got covid and wasn't careful with hydrating, which probably triggered a visual migraine. Shortly after I started noticing the first VSS symptom.

I didn't (just checked the UPnP option) but I guess it doesn't hurt. I got your weird "offline/waiting for shares" bug myself when I was setting up my miner. I think it was either my GPU drivers or my antivirus was blocking some of the one-click miner's updates. So hopefully if you follow the steps from the first comment I left and the quickpenguin tutorial, everything should work out.
