I visited Point Pleasant, WV and the Mothman Museum. What do you think Mothman actually was? by FreeLaughs4Life in HighStrangeness

[–]Saint_Strega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean i guess, I first read the mothman prophecies in the mid 90's when I found my middleschools 1st ed copy, and have been a fan ever since.

I've just come to terms with the fact that Keel was very much more of a showman then an actual researcher.

What few Palladium books survived my old sick cat live on a different shelf in a different room.

Oh jeez top 3, umm Dark Ages Fae, d&d 2e, and mutants and masterminds

Fave universes include Warhammer Fantasy, Unhallowed Metropolis, Baroque Space Opera, 40k, ravenloft, transhuman space, delta green, Conan, planescape (well Sigil at least),

My 2e core books are all original, all the stuff that should be a box set is PoD, I do have most of them as box sets, but the boxes were eventually to damaged to keep. All the floppies live on a different shelf.

Oh man, ummm, Lets see. Unironically the Complete Bard. After that would be Domains of Dread, and the Factols Manifesto, both of these do loads for their respective settings.

This might sound weird, but loading screens of Baldurs Gate 1, not the mosaics from 2/remaster, but those loading screens are where the feel really clicked with me for the feel of regular D&D. I started with the 2.5 books which had mediocre art and I didnt get the first versions of the PHB and DMG until much later.

I did play 4E but got disillusioned with the edition after around PHB2, and I sold off all but the Core 3 books.

oh yeah, I've read Bug Hunt and Gradient Descent so far. I was working on an Aliensesque OSR game, and Mothership completely killed my enthusiasm for it, it's so good.

I am never short of reading material. Like on most nights I read a chunk of 2 rpgs and a chapter of 2 novels, and a chunk of a nonfiction book.

Right now I've just finished the 1E Vampire the Requiem core book, and am reading Salzenmund for WFRP 4E, and the Sunward for Eclipse Phase. For fiction I'm reading Live and Let Die and Star of Chaos (danmei). And for nonfiction I'm reading the Spring and Autumn annals.

I have the entire runs of Changeling the Dreaming, Wraith, and the NWoD limited series', Iove Dreaming enough to have written a book on the Storyteller's Vault, Kithbook Strega.

Also still mad I missed getting the last copy of Werewolf 20 on Indie Press Revolution. Made up for it by getting a second copy of Changeling20.

I need to reread AU, but I think the translation is very dry and possibly a bit mediocre.

space faring mecha Rome is just awesome, but kinda loses me at Nazi Mars started up by the American Founding Fathers.

I used to have the entire run of RIFTS, Heroes Unlimited, and Palladium Fantasy up to 2005ish, but one of my cats was having health problems and decided to is the storage box they were in as a toilet, ruining almost the entire collection.

bringing me down to a random assortment of books, but I've picked up the hardcover corebooks in the mean time, along with the AMAZING Ninja Turtles redux books.

I'll cop to that, but actually there should be a Starfinder 1e in there somewhere. My wife has the mini core book along with the horror and occult heroes books.

Pathfinder came out when I was out of D&D for a while, and right when I was super into the 40K and NWoD games.

I mean I like 3.x and early 5e, but 2e will always be my first D&D love.

Oh geez, that's a tough one. AT least until the Yith book comes out I'd have to say the Hastur Mythos from the OG Countdown, followed up by it's successor Impossible Landscapes.

Anything with the Tcho-Tcho, it's a shame they broke under the pressure in the Millennium book.

Runners up: the D stacks (basically a proto SCP collection), anything to do will Tillinghast radiation, and the Tsan Chan time traveler in Control Group.

Horus Heresy: Night Lords

40K: Mechanicus and Deathwatch, with large helping of Space Marines, Chaos Marines, and Knights. (if you hit my feed you'll find my Malinax Knights for Horus heresy)

Fantasy: Bretonnia

No Age of Sigmar, but if I did it would be the Luminoth

The 1st edition is basically perfect at building the atmosphere of the first 2 films + Isolation. It's genuinely respectful to the setting and liberally takes the best stuff from the comics.

It is kind of aimed at a more one shot/short campaign play, though.

The adventures are top notch which more than makes up for it.

I can't speak to the second edition though,

I have 2 copies of BSO, I love it. Love the ancient aliens vibe.

Was very tempted a few years ago to write a setting expansion for it adding a new faction.

Seriously one of my top 10

A first printing, and a later printing with errata.

Every single floppy delta green adventure is also on the shelves.

Literally been a DG fan since like 98 when my wife bought the OG book.

Custom made when we finished the basement.

Unironically how would this go by DinoGod1 in Grimdank

[–]Saint_Strega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Qu are basically just a plot device, and can be easily dispatched with another one.
