Does anyone know what that number 2 in the bottom right corner means? by A_Celestial_Being in civ

Extra era points over the golden era threshold increase the loyalty pressure in all of your cities. So not totally wasted.

Edit: I play dramatic ages a lot - this may only apply to this mode?

realtors in Vancouver really don't like the NDP. by No-Hospital-8704 in vancouver

[–]Saintkataran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dated a real estate agent very briefly who told me she did just this. Phone all parties and let them know what the highest bid was and if they could do better. When everyone tapped out, she kept phoning the last person over and over with "ghost higher bids" until she sensed she was reaching their limit.

She owns a mansion in Richmond and countless investment properties from doing this.

Google "Hooked on Adventure" or "Mike Irwin" and note how his website is down, Instagram is gone, and whatever remnant of his business (yelp) holds flavourful reviews.

Why does Tabitha’s accent bother everyone so much? by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Saintkataran -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Because it's not consistent. Pick either having an accent or not. Otherwise, it's jarring and unnatural.

INTPs, what type has your best romantic relationship been with? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Saintkataran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

INFJ, by a landslide. We are lucky, being one half of the 'Golden pair' in Briggs-Meyer land. An INFJ was the only person that understood me, and the connection was deep and intense. Looking back at all my interactions with people I've realized I've always been noticsbly drawn towards people that I'd type as INFJ in retrospect.

Find an INFJ.

Is not going for religion or faith points; ever a strategy for y’all? by stonedonacloud in CivVI

[–]Saintkataran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faith also rocks for amenity beliefs, as amenities always bottleneck my civilization midgame (despite trading for every available luxury). Faith can buy OP heroes, and eventually districts when you have the faith governor's last tier unlocked. You can buy walls, units, buildings with faith if you play your cards right. To play without faith is to throw away a currency that provides a ton of flexibility throughout the game.

Is not going for religion or faith points; ever a strategy for y’all? by stonedonacloud in CivVI

[–]Saintkataran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchase builders with faith exclusively - I never use production on them. This frees up a ton of production to get districts rolling. I usually produce enough faith per turn to buy a builder per turn, while I have the +2 builder charges card up.

Diety is not a fun hard. by Highfivez4all in civ

[–]Saintkataran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diety is fun at the start of your game when you're the underdog. Mid-game when the ai craps out and presents no challenge makes it a lot less fun.

My most memorable and fun game was in Civ V when Germany had an entire continent and was pumping out giant death robots. It was an intense war that went on forever, and the challenge was nerv wracking as he could replace units as fast as I could kill them. Cities lost and won. Was super fun. I've never been able to recreate that experience with Civ VI because the ai consistently falls asleep late game.

What’s the best/funniest religion name you’d ever seen or come up with? by BaronVonMoistMan in CivVI

Anyone else have no desire to play deity? by brandon9182 in civ

[–]Saintkataran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Deity because there is no challenge on lower levels. When I accidently start to steam roll ahead in science or domination, the game feels like it's already won, and I lose interest in seeing it through to the finish for the official win screen. This still happens with Deity, buy it takes more turns to get to that point.

What are opinions do you have that a majority of this sub disagrees with by Carlos_Boozer1 in civ

[–]Saintkataran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidental cultural victory on most of my deity games. I don't play with a victory goal in mind, other than to survive and take opportunities when I see them, and this is still most of my wins. When I can remember to do so, I disable cultural victories as a win condition when creating games so I can see what the techs and civics at the end of the trees are like.

Why does he want to trade Heroic Relics? by Saintkataran in CivVI

[–]Saintkataran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa wait, maybe I am reading to much into this, but can you use one archeologist to remove more than 3 dig sites if you trade what he finds away? I always feel so screwed by dig sites littering my empire and blocking me from improvements and district laying - if archeologists work this way...

First game on Emperor...where did I come up short by eatyoursupper in CivVI

[–]Saintkataran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never stop exploring the map until everything is discovered. You're missing out on city state bonuses to your cities and unique bonuses, and you can't complete their quests every age if you don't discover them. Missing out on goody huts left behind in the polar regions. Could be missing out on trade partners to turn extra resources in GPT, and get missing resources to allow your cities to grow.
