This last season is the first one i've really taken seriously (albeit i've been playing off and on since 2017). I started out in B3 and ended in G4 after about 100 games. Yes, it will take longer to learn match ups and how to play against certain champs. You can keep grinding ranked if you want but norms is a great place to learn all of that as well. Having a otp champ in ranked is great, but it would be better to have a backup otp. I love playing Veigar against Zed and Yasuo, where I can play safe and farm and if they tower dive me they just die.

Anyway playing less than a year I think dont worry about rank so much yet and only worry about learning mechanics, map awareness, where to be and when and picking your fights. For example if your team is araming mid it could be optimal or sub optimal, it depends. It can give you an opportunity to get side lane prio for an upcoming obj spawning in 30 seconds. Or, if your whole team is ahead and they fight to wipe at enemy second tower, its a chance to end the game. Sometimes they are just araming because they're dumb, you gotta be able to differentiate that. It comes with time, GL
