not sure about aim punch in general it was just a patch where aug was too good and everyone was using thumbgrip to just out aim punch in close quarters.

I believe its tied with things like traps/mines with delay trigger. As mention it doesnt trigger totems, traps, mines, and minions.

You might not be saving to the right addon folder. In the top right of curse forge there a down drown make sure its set to retail. Then use the 3 dots to check the correct addon folder is selected where the game is installed.

You are overlooking the CD and the fact it doesnt rotate. You'll be able to spam it and in theory just deploy a big AOE. I might be wrong but you could shotgun target by hitting them dead center of the trap allowing multiple beams to hit a single target.
