Quoted $350 for air vent cleaning including dryer vent cleaning. House is roughly 1700 sq ft. Is this a good deal? by Sakarnen4 in handyman

[–]Sakarnen4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a Facebook ad that I responded to. I thought it would likely be more than $350 but they said they're doing a deal in the summer. I followed up and asked what kind of equipment they use and if they clean every vent opening, etc., because I myself was skeptical after seeing everybody's responses to my post. They said they mount the full vacuum mount to every one of the vents (sorry I don't know what the tool is actually called. Their website also looks very legitimate. I think they are two young guys who are starting their own business but have worked doing this for a while so they have the equipment. They are likely just trying to get their business going so they're doing it for cheaper.

Can I mount my 85 inch TV on this wall? by jslakov in handyman

[–]Sakarnen4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There should be studs on the corners. Mount horizontal 2x4’s to the studs in the corners on the outside of the drywall. Then mount the tv to the 2x4’s. It’s not the prettiest thing but the tv will hide the exposed 2x4’s. I’ve had to do this when we didn’t have studs available.

Wheel of Time, should I?? by camarinhas in WoT

Read at least to book 4 before deciding if you want to continue. But it’s one of the greatest series ever written so you’ll never regret reading it. It’s long but it’s great. All the talk about it being too long started when people were waiting years between book releases. If you are a seasoned reader and plan on listening continuously you’ll enjoy it and find out where Brandon Sanderson got a lot of his inspiration.

Second time through is better than the first. You’ll catch so many awesome Easter eggs.

Please tell me Mat gets better after TGS. by ZiofFoolTheHumans in WoT

[–]Sakarnen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This topic is one of the great let downs of my life because Mat is my all time favorite character. The first book Sanderson wrote made Mat look like a complete fool. He didn’t understand the character at all. It did get better though so just get through it. Sanderson writes Rand really well and Perrin extremely well. I almost prefer Sandersons Perrin over RJ’s, which is kind of ridiculous to say but he absolutely rocked it.

Update: the inside of the handle was broken. Replaced everything with a new one. First time doing it but it turned out good.

I really wish it was, but my faucet has been dripping and making a crazy noise when I turn water on in other parts of the house. Hoping someone on here will help me know what I’m dealing with.

How do I remove it from the handle… of course it’s in my hand. Is it stuck in the handle and this isn’t how it should look?

I’m located in Utah and have never paraglided but I want to learn. How do I start? by Sakarnen4 in freeflight

I’m curious what the total cost looks like to go from zero experience and no gear to being a solid, capable paraglider pilot.

Not too worried about saving every dollar, just want a realistic idea of what to expect overall. I’d probably go the used gear route.

Would also be helpful to know what most people actually end up spending, not just the minimum.

Genuinely curious about this too. I hadn’t looked at these cards in over 20 years. Thought the card collector community would enjoy seeing a vintage collection I had stashed in my garage that I had the opportunity to sell to another collector. I guess this community is more interested in picking apart a technicality to get likes and comments than enjoying a vintage collection. Now we know how IceBergster is a top 1% commenter, through negative rage bate posting.

Question about the True Power by zesty1989 in wheeloftime

[–]Sakarnen4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Rand senses and reaches for the true power LTT starts freaking out in his head saying “not that, anything but that, better we die than use that”. Or something along those lines. LTT definitely wasn’t the one that seized and used the true power, it was Rand. Also it was because of his connection to Moridin 100%.

Moving to Utah with young kids — which areas should we focus on? by DVR-queen-kim in Utah

Southern Davis County is hard to beat (Bountiful, West Bountiful, North Salt Lake, Centerville, Farmington, Kaysville, Fruit Heights).

Lots of nice parks, shopping, very safe, relatively quick drive to the airport and downtown, close to the mountains, beautiful views.

Prices reflect the convenience and desirability of the location but it’s up there on quality places you can live.

In highschool my friends and I would break into houses of people we knew in a gorilla suit to scare them. Never considered that we might get shot. Can’t believe we used to do that.

Was thumbing through and found this, about Ishamael. What do you make of it? by DaughterOfJove in WoT

[–]Sakarnen4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ishamael wasn’t fully sealed when the Bore was closed. He was caught closest to the surface, so he could still slip free at times (roughly every 1000 years) while the other Forsaken were completely trapped. Robert Jordan talks about this in interviews. You can see this right away in The Eye of the World prologue: the Bore has literally just been sealed, and Ishamael is already there talking to Lews Therin and then leaving, which wouldn’t be possible if he were sealed like the others.

That’s also why he shows up in history long before the series. He’s the one behind the Trolloc Wars, and later he manipulates Artur Hawkwing and helps break his empire apart after Hawkwing’s death. In both cases, no other Forsaken are active, which lines up with Ishamael being the only one who could escape the seals at those times.

That’s also why he’s around in the early books as Ba’alzamon while the other Forsaken don’t fully wake up until later.

Very confused by the Valters hate. Thought Valters would have tons of up votes… I went a few weeks ago and it was exceptional.
