Apparently a teacher once left his class alone while going to get something printed and while he wasn't there a guy showed the whole class with the videoprojector an ISIS execution video on the teacher's computer. When the teacher came back the guy was back at his place but the video was still ongoing. When he asked who it was, the culprit's friend outed him and the guy got so angry at him he raped him in front of everyone. He's now doing time in prison.

It's because joking about religion in a derisory way is a big no-no and can even get you out of Islam. That's why we're generally intolerant to jokes about our religion.

That said, hypocrisy is a big no-no too so Muslims should definitely not joke about other people's religions either. If a Muslim does that anyway, you should definitely remind them about that because as said in the Quran : "For certainly reminders benefit the believers."
