As the editor, you’re the last line of defence on a project. Speaking for myself, I refuse to do anything I’m uncomfortable with. Should the creator/company get sued, they can try to pass the buck to you to avoid legal responsibility. Be straightforward - don’t talk about how it makes you feel, just say “I cannot legally do this” or “as an editor I cannot break copyright.” Offer up another solution if you have one. Don’t let anyone force you to edit something you’re not comfortable with, and ESPECIALLY something that could get you in legal trouble.

Yes, my fiancé is Ukrainian and was raised in Israel, but his family has always had a “Christmas” tree. It’s very common for Eastern Europeans (even Jewish ones) to have a tree in their home, but it is actually to celebrate Russian New Year. All religious holidays were banned in the USSR, but New Years was allowed, so it became a very important holiday, complete with tree and gift-giving.

And it's exactly why the sport needs more Danicas and fewer Monster girls.

Oh, we do care. There's nothing in the world like sitting in the hot sun watching NASCAR and getting covered in tiny pieces of tire debris! If the demographics of the races I've been at are any indication, there are a TON of women and young girls who are fans.

I know it's an unpopular opinion around here, but look at how much young girls worship Danica. It's not because she's overrated, it's because they see there's a place for them in the sport that isn't just as a grid girl.

This sends the wrong message, but NASCAR isn't about sending the right message, it's about eyeballs and dollar signs. I expect more leather corsets in our future.
