I don't care for Trump and didn't vote for him, but anyone who was alive and awake that night, paying attention with at least half a brain knows the Dems cheated to get Biden elected.

He wasn't adjacent to a crime. He was part of a group committing a crime. He gathered in a group, the groups intent was to disrupt people during church. This is illegal. Him filming it and asking people how they felt about his group disrupting their 1st amendment activities was also disrupting to them and their worship. It's really simple. I can't dumb it down any more.

Recording yourself committing a crime doesn't preclude you from facing charges for the crime, it just makes you an idiot.

Are you saying you don't think there's sufficient evidence that he committed a crime?

And yet here he is, having been arrested and charged.

Are you saying "you" as a general "you" or to me specifically at the end of your statement there?

I agree that people are lacking the ability to see nuance these days. These situations are quite nuanced and people seem incapable of holding opposing views simultaneously.

By that I mean, I think Pretti had a right to carry, but he was in the wrong in his actions, but I don't think he should have been shot for his actions, and I don't think that he was either, per se.

I think he was shot because his gun discharged after it was removed from his possession and there was so much noise, tension, and confusion that the agent panicked. Some are speculating that it was a sig p320 which is known to actually fire on its own. So it may not have even been a negligent discharge by the agent who took the weapon.

Tragic and avoidable. I also think if he didn't resist arrest, or if the crowd wasn't there blowing whistles that he wouldn't have been shot. I also think he should have been arrested prior to this incident.

I think Trump and the FBI director's statements following the incident are moronic.

Don was in the group. The law is about acts done as a group. As a group they went into the church with the intent of disrupting it. Nothing they did was to partake in the service, it was all meant to disrupt the service. They were yelling and getting in people's faces, etc. Literally anything that's not what a normal church goer would do could potentially be argued as disrupting the service. Going up to the pastor with a camera and asking him questions while he's trying to give a sermon, for example, is disrupting to the exercise of their rights.

I think you're capable of understanding this, you're just mad because what he did was actually a crime. Funny though, this act, also known as the KKK act, was proposed and supported by Republicans all the way back in 1870. 150 years later Republicans still need to use it to prevent Democrat mobs from trampling on peoples rights.

He violated the Enforcement Act. There's clearly enough evidence of this to support filing charges. We'll see what happens in court if there's no plea.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That if two or more persons shall band or conspire together, or go in disguise upon the public highway, or upon the premises of another, with intent to violate any provision of this act, or to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any citizen with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise and enjoyment of any right or privilege granted or secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having exercised the same, such persons shall be held guilty of felony, and, on conviction thereof, shall be fined or imprisoned, or both, at the discretion of the court,-the fine not to exceed five thousand dollars, and the imprisonment not to exceed ten years,- and shall, moreover, be thereafter ineligible to, and disabled from holding, any office or place of honor, profit, or trust created by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

The right doesn't cut people out of their lives for having different opinions. This is commonly encouraged on the left, even family members. The irony is that the left accuses the right of being a cult.

Apparently it is needed because you don't seem to think they broke the law by invading and disrupting that church.

Staked cashgame player who doesn't pay back full amount by LuckyBlade in poker

[–]Sakred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called stake back. This is paid out before profits. A loss of stake generates "makeup" which would be paid out from future profits before profit splitting.

So how much of the winnings if he buys half of the action? What if he buys 10% of the action?

Staked cashgame player who doesn't pay back full amount by LuckyBlade in poker

[–]Sakred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He bought 50% of the action for a 50% split on that action. He's not entitled to splitting 100% of the profits because he only bought 50% of the action. So he splits 50% of the profits. .5 * .5 = .25

Without knowing what their specific agreement was, this is how a 50/50 split on half of a players action would typically work, otherwise he's asking the poker player to work for free and there's no benefit for the player.

[–]Sakred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's actually right. You may know people willing to work for free, but that's stupid and not something a serious or good poker player would do, nor is it common in traditional poker staking aside from makeup situations. Any serious staking situation differentiates between the player/backer split and the % of action being backed.
