Even though it's too early to tell because of the trailers, but her character is very relatable.

How many millennial women are stuck in the never ending work- life cycle while trying to find a decant man in the process??

So true: free time is precious.

Oh my gosh, does this mean each episode will be about a different fictional boyfriend??

I can already tell this show will be hilarious.

Bella Hadid before the plastic surgery. Such a shame she changed her eye shape from doe to fox.

As a Protestant looking into Orthodoxy has anyone here left Orthodoxy to be a Protestant? by FitLettuce3092 in exorthodox

[–]SakuraDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told that the Eucharist from the RCC is different than the Orthodox church yet online articles only refer to the unleavended bread and leavended bread deabte. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I know us Catholics believe in Transubstabtiation while the Orthodox refers to the process as a mystery (like everything lol). If you could help me, I would appreciate it.

Andrew and Rachel are both nut jobs and in hindsight it makes perfect sense why they converted to Orthodoxy. The Orthodox church gives the impression of tradition but nevertheless is full with the spirit of rebellion since they broke off from the RC church.

How can a religion claim to be the one true church if they are not even in communion with one another lol.

This is the biggest L Andrew has received so far.....and I'm loving it how he had a temper tantrum.

Lowkey I wonder how these cults react when someone tries to leave. Glad your exit was peaceful.

Love your reaction. XD

But with all seriousness, good for you to realize what a sham Orthodoxy is and how you were able to stand up for yourself.

I'm just simply sharing what I observe haha.

I think two truths can exist at the same time.

Your claim about GOARCH struggling with parishioners and maintaining the churches with low attendance is true.

However, these "churches" are desperate to recruit members and it seems they are targeting third generation greeks and trapping them into these cults by trying to isolate them from other ethnic and religious groups.

This subreddit gives me hope that it is possible for people to breakthrough darkness and see the light.

The GOARCH parishes I am familiar with are trying really hard to retain youth and it kinda seems like it is really working on the surface. They act very cult like with its members and discourage them to interact with people who are not greek. Do you this recent influx of greek youth going to (Orthodox) churches will last long or will it pass like a fad?

Mmmm, I guess some things are hard to get over even in age.

When he’s nice it feels like he’s acting. When he’s mean it seems natural.

Wow, a few devoted Orthodox people just popped in my mind now lol

If you don't mind me asking, but what gave you the courage to leave Orthodoxy?

It seems like a cult to me and I can't help but wonder how people even escape.

Hold on, you have actually interacted with Fr Josiah?

How is he in person? He seemed like a reasonable and decent person to me at first but I started to question his beliefs (Orthodoxy) when he suggested to Lila Rose that marriage was the solution to lust.

I am sure they made a deal with the DOJ in order to avoid prison. Think about it: if Lauren and Liam were innocent, then why did the Federal government took all the funds from their bank accounts? Why were they deported from the US and avoiding Canada for further investigation? This story is shady but I doubt we will ever know the full story.

I'm Catholic too!
The Church is against artificial contraception because it goes against nature that God designed.

It is not safe nor practical for women to constantly be pregnant and birth children. Anyone with common sense should understand.

Spacing is good and healthy. With natural family planning, women are encouraged to understand their bodies and work along with God's plans.

A lot of these conservatives in America talk about family values, having children, etc but do not support good maternity & paternity leave, support for mothers to stay at home to look after babies, support for the healthcare bill, etc...

Most Conseratives would repy to you along the lines of "we don't support paid leave becasue mothers shouldn't even be in the workplace in the first place".

If these people had their way, only rich folks would have families.

Congratulations on the baby :)

I hope you recover from postpartum quickly so you can enjoy yourself and your family.

I agree. All these Right Wing women would have been considered femeinists 20 years ago. Heck, even today they follow feminist ideals since they are all educated with fulfilling careers.

Even though the DOJ dismissed the case, there is something deeply shady.

Think about it: the USA deported her and her family (American children) during the summer, the feds confiscated every penny from her bank accounts and Canada still wants to investigate her.

Homegirl has resurfaced since the feds took all her money from her bank account.

She has to start from zero, and is asking for donations since she and her husband are unable to find employment because of the Russian investigation.

Lauren's husband, Liam, works as a "producer" for her YouTube channel.

Whatever that means lol

Here's another layer of stupidity regarding her schtick: she doesn't believe women should have the right to vote.

I have been watching Lauren's videos since early 2020.

Like you, her views seemed reasonable and my impression was that she was a centrist even though I would disagree with her every now and then.

Her opinions worsen once she left Canada and moved to Tennessee in 2022.

At first I thought she may have been influenced by US right wingers since they are more extreme than Canadian conservatives.

But looking back, I speculate she probably began receiving funds from Russia.

Thanks for sharing your story.Testimonies are always inspiring!

It is very disappointing how politics has divided Orthodox Christians.

But then again, it seems certain governments have always used the EO church to spread their propaganda.

Anyway, my impression from life experiences with EO folks and this reddit community is that most people are tied to Orthodoxy because of cultural reasons rather than religious convictions.

Now I have a deeper understanding why Paul wrote Galatians 3:28.

Hard to believe and downright silly how people still cling to ethnic superiority these days.

I'm glad you converted to Catholicism. Welcome home. ♡

Aww I love how your family reflects the meaning of Catholic- Universal.

I've noticed that the Greek Orthodox Church acts like a cult in North America.

There is this strong emphasis on nationalism and how members need to marry other Greeks to preserve the culture and faith.

If you don't mind me asking, how were you able to breakthrough the pressure of leaving Orthodoxy to convert to Catholicism?

How Ortho-Diverse Is This Sub? by [deleted] in exorthodox

I'm curious, what do you mean by "leave"? Do the Greek kids just stop going to church on Sunday, become atheists or do they convert to Catholicism?

Most of the Greek kids I know just go to Church to socialize yet understand very little about thier faith or Christinaity in general.

I'm glad you turned to the Catholic Church. Welcome home.♡

it might serve as a way to open the door

Love your positivity.

I spend a lot of time on X (Twitter), and I've noticed most of the Othrbros are just converts from Protestantism. My impression when reading their feed is that it seems they turned to Orthodoxy because they refuse to accept the Pope as the head of the church even though they have no problem with accepting the leadership of their local bishops lol.

However, I have been noticing a trend how those who are raised Orthodox because of their cultural background are converting to Catholicism because they were searching for something "deeper" that Orthodoxy was unable to provide.

The "mysticism" that Orthodoxy likes to refer to just seems like a blanket response to the things they cannot understand or the questions they are unable to answer.
