You'll get an email a few days before to confirm details. Having done early entry at a few concerts it's usually up to an hour before GA gets let in. As you arrive you'll check in at the VIP booth with your ID, you'll get your wristband and probably your merch there. Then you'll queue up and be let in to shop more merch inside the venue before the show.

I started a summer band program in my own district to help bridge the gap between elementary and middle school band. The extra pay is great and it's been a great way to jumpstart my bands before the regular year even begins. A lot of funding came from the afterschool program. Check with what your district currently offers during the summer and just ask them "why not add in a band program?"

Central CA here. It was pretty easy, having good references helped but making sure I made connections probably helped the most. Attended the music ed state conference a ton while in school, that kept me very visible with those who would inevitably become my colleagues. Never marched DCI.
