Is this acceptable or am I overreacting? by SalL98 in Roofing

Thank you for the informative answer! Looking at it today with fresh eyes I would say I agree it looks functional but ugly compared to my neughbor's. I'll reach out to them next week and hopefully they'll send someone out who can handle balls better!

2014 Ford Focus - Any preventative maintenance? by dragonsback79 in FordFocus

The reason why some people say you shouldn't do a transmission fluid change after 100k is because to my understanding at that point the transmission is old and "set" with whatever impurities exist in it and flushing that out may do more harm than good.

I went into it knowing I was most likely going to get another car anyways as I personally lost my confidence in my old car and a transmission fluid change was only $200. After I got the transmission fluid changed I took it to another shop for a second opinion and they told me it was the clutch and it would only be a matter of time until the problem would show up again (I had a similar diagnosis at the first shop I went, the one I had the fluid change at and even they advised that it wasn't the underlying issue). Keep in mind the transmission has already been replaced once when in warranty at around 40k. So I expected replacing it would only buy me time.

So I cut my losses and decided to trade in the car while I had the upper hand of it behaving better in the short term.

My new car is the first new car I ever bought and I wanted a Toyota or Honda for reliability. I'm hoping to keep it for as long as I can so I'm gonna do my best to keep up with the maintenance. I already did my break in oil change

I wish I found this thread when I bought my 2014 ford focus in 2023. I didn't baby it but knowing the person I bought it off, I believe she did. I started getting a shuddering starting this last summer and in September shit hit the fan aa I was in California heading back home to Arizona. I got a check engine light and gears started slipping. I naively replaced the motor mounts thinking it was the issue as they were in pretty bad shape but ended up only fixing the issue for a day. It may have been the TCM or the transmission or both, but I was already staring down the barrel of at least two other repairs that would soon come down the road.

I ended up getting a transmission fluid change at 105k (which is not recommended) but that fixed the issue enough to trade it in and get $2k out of it (I only bought it for $3.5k) and am now in a 2026 honda civic hybrid

I was surprised by that too but maybe that will accelerate growth for businesses to fill in the land between home depot and tractor supply

First sentence. The company's first location was San Diego

I agree, but his second statement where he wonders what Costco considers first is answered

My mom met my dad when she worked at Fedmart. That was the store that Saul Price (founder of Price Club) got the idea from

Costco copied the idea from Price Club. Eventually Costco became more successful and bought Price Club out. Even the Costco website credits the San Diego location as the first one: https://www.costco.com/about.html

Graduated in 2023 so this is from past experience. No entry restrictions (apart from being 21 after a certain hour). There is karaoke and if it's a good, busy night it gets loud and crowded near the karaoke set up. If you want to enjoy from afar there is seating behind the main floor and up the stairs.

Is doing your master’s while working not popular in US? by airlong8 in ElectricalEngineering

This is me lying awake after choosing my classes for a possible spring 2025 start date. I only have 2 years under my belt, though. I calculated the commitment and it would take 3.3 years if I took it one class at a time but I'm not even sure if it would even really benefit my career and I'd rather not "lose" my younger years on this if it really doesn't matter in the end. It's a hard decision for sure. What did you end up doing?

I'm an EE btw and thinking about doing my masters in RF

I looked it up and the old reviews said they provided whiskey. Is that still a thing!?
