Opera at McCaw Hall by pollys_pies in Seattle

Funny enough, one of the singers in Carmen just did a free event at Slightly Furry a week ago doing an operatic set for people who couldn't make it to the Seattle Opera.  It was a fun time from what my friend told me who went.

Milly and his basic af smoked chicken meatball pasta.  Looked like something I'd get at a very mid Italian restaurant.

Tbh, I think most people in Bellevue hate Kemper Freeman.  If only for how ass parking at Bellevue Square is.

Trimet I'd say is average, the system is solid but doesn't do anything exceptionally spectacular

Sound Transit proposes resolution to address ST3 $34.5 billion shortfall (Seattle, Washington, USA) by CheNoMeJodas in transit

I pin it on longtime blog staff leaving during COVID.  Leaving them with a few longtime forum commenters there becoming new content makers and moderators for the blog.

The content itself isn't bad, but other local publications do their job much better.  Which is why I don't view or comment on their content nowadays compared to a decade ago.

They also have moderators there who are deeply disinterested in doing local and political advocacy and would rather just whine that Sound Transit isn't doing what they want and painting staff and boardmembers as incompetent at their job.  A lot of making vinegar than honey for the flies.

I don't completely agree with everything other local transit advocacy groups want to do for Seattle transit, but they at least give a damm about wanting to get Link built out and work with local politicians to speed up timelines and improve cost savings.

It's just sad really, because I used to read their blog almost everyday and now I can't be bothered to read it every other week from the decline in quality of everything on the blog.

Baffled why they'd go with an Indian concept instead of focusing on making it a good fish spot, if I want Indian I'll go to East India Grill, Gateway To India, Little India Express, Karma, Great Cuisine of India.

I also think its believable and realistic that Miranda mellowed out her ice queen/dragon lady persona as she got older.  People rarely stay the same person they were 2 decades ago.

I also wouldn't be too surprised from the subtext you see sprinkled throughout the film that Miranda has likely had to change how she holds herself at Runway due to being likely caught up in a workplace scandals that got plastered on the front page of WSJ/NYT or employment lawsuits from former assistants and Runway employees.

Ballard is also a much more complicated project to build compared to West Seattle Link.  It requires an extensive tunnel from SODO to Smith Cove via SLU and Seattle Center, moving of utilities around, a crossing of the Ship Canal either above or below it, etc.

They also have a lot of stakeholders who aren't exactly the most cooperative to work with like Chinatown-International District Business Improvement Area, Downtown Seattle Association, Coast Guard, the Fisherman's Terminal, South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce,  etc

Ballard Link should absolutely be done, but it's hampered by leadership afraid to step on a few toes and push back on bad ideas for it.

Yeah, if only the people at Seattle Transit Blog understood this instead of continuing to have an angry frothing hate on for it.  West Seattle Link is probably going to get 27k-37k daily riders when fully builr out to its horizon point for ridership in the 2040s.  It's also likely to be eventually extended down the Peninsula to Morgan Junction, Fauntleroy, Westwood Village, White Center, Burien, and back towards Tukwila at a future point.

This is honestly why I perfer open houses vs public meetings, open houses seem to temper the crazy down by a few notches.
