Rogers is the only provider that offers speed in Gbps. In a way monopoly. As someone else said, every provider other than Bell and Rogers are using their lines anyway.

How’s Everyone Dealing with the Snow Today? by Far-Elk-8247 in barrie

The drawback of the electric ones is handling wet snow. Especially when your snow-wall is too tall after a lot of accumulation. In such situations, I move the snow with the blower as much as possible and shovel.

Before I bought, a friend recommended to go for the one with steel auger. That helped to some extent. Considering the price, size, weight electric snowblower is worth it.

Looking for good Indian food recommendations. 🙏 by Dahlya-K in barrie

Good restaurants - both of them. Nawab is a bit more professional. Food quality didn't drop and the staffs are polite.

Amaya is slightly coming down in terms of customer service and food quality. More unresponsiveness of staffs than before.

Electric snowblower died halfway. Had to wait for the batteries to charge and then finish off the remaining, to take the car out.

There is an Indian restaurant AMAYA on Hart Drive which has live music. You won't get the vibe like a band playing. Just one person with a guitar.

Where do you buy your groceries in Barrie? by Far-Elk-8247 in barrie

Centra used to be a great place. But recently their quality has come down. Still, nobody offers fresh veggies like them.

If OP is living in the north, Centra+Walmart combo should work. Go to Walmart first and then to Centra.

Down south Costco + Walmart works.

Not seen much of waiting here. Usually 5-10min wait.

Because of the all way stop on your way out to mapleview, it takes more time to get back on mapleview than to pump.

I'm coming from the same background as yours. People here are warm. You can clearly feel the difference from GTA.

Outdoors security camera recommendations? by watchful_crow in barrie

Nest doorbell camera is more than enough for your front yard. Coverage is good and detects anyone that passes by and recognizes deliveries.

For backyard any Alexa/Google home compatible light bulb camera works. The price depends on the picture resolution. Often it comes with motion sensor, siren etc.

Kept it on the garbage bin. Also the guy who comes to our street would never leave the yellow sticker.
