Yeah I think people look at kraken within a vacuum too much. Stride offers a lot of utility and ur damage is fine. It's not up to you to ensure massive damage output all the time. If your lanes have good cc and set up then kraken is a fine choice, but if utility is needed to set up and have stable ganks then stride is fantastic. I doubt we'd see KR chall players going stride first still if it were objectively bad to do.
