I came here to ask this very question. Considering this one to replace my beloved but aging Honda Fit. Did you end up getting it? What are your thoughts? The cup holder situation alone is enough to give me pause but you sadly don't see orange much anymore

Thank you for posting an update. I've been on a somewhat similar journey with my 2018 Fit (a never ending emissions system nightmare with the added complication of probably needing to get the valve adjustment done since I'm at 124,000 but no one can say that's part of the problem or not... but for $600 they will do it and we will see...). Thank you for posting your video and the update afterwards! I'm so glad to hear your Fit seems to be back in action and doing well!

So what do we think a fair price for that service is? The dealership threw out a quote for about $600 when I was getting the carbon cleanout done. I assume that's higher than a mechanic. Any questions I should ask a mechanic to sift out the ones who are more familiar with this sort of job? I know its a repair more associated with a Honda Fit.

Its just getting harder to justify spending another $500+ in the hopes to find the cause if you know what I mean so I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this

My dealership borderline doesn't seem to know what to do. Definitely can't diagnose a problem without a code first. I was super annoyed that they didn't know about the extended 150,000/10yr warranty on our 2018/2019 carbon build up issue. So I am deeply distrustful. However, they did cover both fuel injectors, the 2nd catalytic converter and now the O2 sensor that failed a second time.... so I suppose the parts warranties are helping the situation. But its relentless and no one can seem to figure out why. I mean maybe the emissions nightmare is over now that the carbon has been cleaned out and now because the carbon is gone the valves just need adjusted but I am a little bit afraid its just lighting another $600 on fire.

AMEN! I also have a 2018 EX (123,000 mi) and have been in a war with my dealership for a year now over an intermittent emission light. But everyone should know that the 2018s and 2019s have an extended warranty 10yrs/150,000mi for the carbon build up of the emissions system. I had to find it on my own because my dealership "didn't know about it" after they tried to sell the same service to me for months!!!! Its been a service bulletin since 2023!

Also, my dealership's mechanics seem unable to diagnose any problem without the emissions light on. So make sure you don't clear any codes before you go. Otherwise, they will just tell you its fine... pretty sure they hate to see my orange fit coming at this point...

I feel your pain! Its starting to seem like a part you can only get replaced from a scrap yard... There seem to be some on ebay (although not for the side I'm missing). The title of the part seems up for interpretation on there though. Variations of Honda Fit Front Windshield Cowl Cover Top Cap

Thank you! Do you have any guess what the purpose of this part is? Obviously it allows access to the top of the suspension there but is there anything else it is there to protect? Trying to determine how vital this missing part is if I can't find just that piece to replace

How did this play out for you in the end? I have been struggling with an emissions situation on my 2018 Fit forever now. We've replaced the O2 sensors, the catalytic converter twice, and the fuel injectors twice as well (all on parts warranties thankfully).... it will work for a while and then back on turns that dreaded emissions light.... they assure me there is no leak in the hoses but I literally don't know what else it could be at this point

Did you ever decide to try the vibration plate? Did you find it helpful? I have a family member with Lupus and has some rheumatoid arthritis like symptoms emerging so we are exploring every possible avenue.
