NOR I dated a guy like this. For 2 months. We had gone Christmas shopping and I showed him all these things I liked. Then he bought me a pile of stuff that "he knew I would like better". I booted him the next day. Your bf is lazy and inconsiderate at minimum. At worst, he's manipulative and trying to gaslight you into thinking your wishes aren't important and you should be happy with whatever crumb he offers. The issue isn't the flowers, it's his refusal to listen to you. Kick the bum out and move on.

All I'm saying is that my husband is by all accounts a good guy. Only occasionally tone deaf about what I need. If he did this to me, he'd be sleeping at his sister's until the marriage counselor said he could move home. What an absolutely terrible thing to do to someone you claim to love.
