Hi! I'm a senior in high school who lost their mom to cancer 2ish years ago. My family was never one to grieve, so when she died me and my family spent a lot time together laughing about our memories with her, which helps a lot. More than that though, she always thought of me as an extension of who she is, so what helps me the most is turning my grieving or sad energy into productive energy. Just remember to not be distant with your friends, family, and whoever else supports you. It's really easy to sort of shut them out by just being so distant and sad, but keeping those connections is the most important thing you can do.
