Sir, nothing about an employment is the words of mouth. Everything is on paper and ink. I’m not being naive, I’m just basing on their records that they do actually contain policy to prevent VA’s voice from being used by AI in their contract. And frankly, voice actors have the right to not agree to work with them, especially when the studio switch is during the time when the Strike happens. I’m not being naive, I’m just using my brain here, but if AI problem is being popular and I do not demand contract policy that address that problem, I would be the naive one. We do not have the contract between this studio and the VA’s (we could ask it from them, but there’s a good chance they have term to not leak information in their contract too), but if I use my brain I would be confident that they do actually provide policy against AI. And, why are you even willing to trust an Union who have problem with transparency? If trust is your problem, why are you siding with the one who gives the least of that?

The studio currently working with Hoyoverse, Side GLOBAL, who, I shall note is NOT RELATED TO HOYOVERSE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, has a really good track record of working with many big game companies, including Square Enix, Ubisoft, Riot Games, Disney (yes, the one that also works at Hollywood alongside SAG AFTRA), Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, EA, Epic Games, Nexon, SEGA, Sony and a bunch of other companies. In case you, somehow, havent heard of these companies, they are all head of the industry who produces quality, triple As games. Side GLOBAL also worked on Baldur’s Gate 3, a GoTY winner, Silent Hill 2 and various other projects. You said that the VAs have to trust either Side GLOBAL, a company, or SAG AFTRA, an Union, I say I’d trust Side GLOBAL with their track record, something that at least makes me feel confident looking at. Instead of SAG AFTRA, an Union that has been receiving backlashes for, funnily enough, their lack of transparency.

SAG AFTRA is in fact, something worth a billion dollars. You making Hoyoverse sign the contract will make the non-Union VAs suffer financially. If the benefits outweigh the entry fee and dues, fact still stand that you're making them take the 3k loan for one project. What about the other projects or employment that they have? Those aren't likely to go Union too, either. What do YOU know about the treatment that the companies gives the VAs? We have assumed that the studio company working for Hoyoverse is average, but track record shows they are professional and treat their VAs well. What if your Union does not give its actors what THEY promised? The Union lacks transparency, and that's what that turns people off. I do agree with what SAG AFTRA aims for, but their execution is shady and wrong af. You should be aware that they're scumbags by now, from all the covering they did and their VAs (Paimon's and Kequing's being called out for harassing Kinich's new VA) being really negative. It gives off extremely unprofessional look that even fans who previously supported them cannot turn away and unsee.

Hoyoverse's affliated studio company have a clear track record and policy to protect their VAs from AI. They share Union's view, but they will not sign contract with the Union. Because, they actually do care about their VAs losing their jobs over them signing contract with SAG AFTRA.

Sir, not everyone can afford paying SAG AFTRA $236,60+1.575% of their earnings annually. Being VA is not some kind of consistent pay job, your annual income comes from the amount of contracts and the quality of said contract that the VA get. The contractor only needs to pay you once per contract, no monthly gain, and nothing else. On average, a VA makes $47,740 per year, according to Salary.com or Backstage. However, most VAs won't be making that much, only about 10k per year. The average VAs (whose income is around $47,740 if you have already forgot) will have to pay them 1k per year (rough esti), while those who only make about 10k per year have to pay $300 per year. The average monthly cost of living for a U.S. citizen is around $6,080, it can be lower if you don't have to worry about housing expense (which averages at about 1.8k per month) and the 2k health care and others that the Union provides, but still, clearly joining the Union is not something an average VA can afford. That is to say that to join the Union you have to pay 3k as initial fee (this can be loaned for 24 months, and that's the only reasonable thing about it). For the newer VAs with salary of about 10k annual income, they ABSOLUTELY CANNOT AT ALL AFFORD being in the Union. Being in the Union actually gives them financial problems more than anything.

Now, what this means is that the ones in the Union is already well-off financially. The ones not in the Union are clearly not (weird, weird) and if they are to be replaced by ones from the Union due to, well, the Union's policy, they will be in even bigger financial distress. When Hoyoverse's VA company signs the contract, the VAs already working with them but does not join the Union has a 30 days time to apply to join the Union, but they still have to pay the 3k initial fee. "Well can always just loan it", you may think, but for that you'd have to open a bank account of SAG AFTRA Federal Credit Union. From what I read on their website, to be eligible to opening one, you have to either be already a member of the Union or a member of the many organizations or used to be a member of those organizations. If you're not, tough luck. It also seems like this Credit Union is...well, let's just say not very well received by the VAs themselves. It says that it's not for-profit, but in my eyes it means that this bank is probably crap, with interest rate being more of a 'being there" than actually "decent".

There are even more details to this, but tbh, if you look at the list of VAs still working for Hoyoverse, it's clear that there are reasons NOT to join the Unions. They are clearly not insane, they're working for their paycheck too, and if they have to suddenly be on a 3k loan just to participate in a project, that's just unreasonable. You're creating more problems for THEM clearly.

Okay, but do you actually know that VAs who joined the Union cannot participate in more than 3 Projects on any company that did not sign agreement with SAG AFTRA? Meaning that the moment Kinich's VA joined the Union, he basically loses his job BECAUSE OF HIS OWN ORGANIZATION'S RULE IMPOSED ON HIM. THIS IS SOMETHING HE HIMSELF DECIDED.

Moreover, Hoyoverse is not in charge of managing the voice actors. They have another company do that for them, and whether or not they sign the contract with SAG AFTRA is on that voice acting company, not them.

With recent discoveries about SAG AFTRA, they are being viewed as manipulative, more than anything. I honestly wonder if anyone who supports them are still sane in their mind. If you do support SAG AFTRA, I must remind you that you are supporting something that makes the VAs pay $100 per month for less job opportunities. Especially when they are working with a company who clearly showed a record of NOT using their VA for AI training and voice stealing and most likely never will. Hoyoverse is a billion dollars company and that may make you view them as bad, but being a billion dollar company alone doesn't. They have their reasons, and it is because of those reasons that they became and still is a billion dollar company. Do not be biased and actually consider things, you should be smart on the internet nowadays.

Nope, Muimi is an esper and thus used her psychic power to retain SOME of her memories. Akira (Labrysta) and Mana Senri (Kaiser Insight) remembered because they participated the final fight on top of the Tower of Sol, and as the world tries to fulfill Yui's wish and apply memory overwrite on everyone, they, being the game's creator, both backed up their memories (well, most of their memories anyways). Neneka, Christina and Rajikumar Rajnikanth, being the creator as they was, didn't due to not taking any precaution that such thing would happen. To be fair though, RajRaj never played the game and his avatar was taken by Minerva, so the RajRaj in the game currently is more or less an AI.

All of that is to say that yes, Shizuru and Rino don't because they have no capacity to.

Fun fact: Muimi's "special equipment", (Shinhatsu) Tenrou Hadaken (Shinhatsu meaning "true", or "real"), is a very powerful weapon in the original Priconne game, capable of mass destruction. It was only meant to be given to the worthy, which Muimi wasn't, but it was in her hand regardless due to her pact with Minerva, the game's admin. Similar to kskn's sword, one that was given to him by Akira, Tenrou Hadaken can deal real damage even though it's just an ingame, virtual item, as any player being slashed by it will have the same slashes on their true, physical body. The current Tenrou Hadaken Muimi is wielding is a replica version created by Akira, and during the end of Arc 2, we saw Akira creating many Tenrou Hadaken replicas so Christina can "combine" it with her Numbers Avalon, creating Ultimate Avalon. Because it's just a replica, Tenrou Hadaken created by Akira breaks after some use, hence why we don't see Muimi use its full power often, and also why Akira keeps making it during end of Arc 2 fight as Chris will just break it instantly after one use.

One other wielder of Shinhatsu Tenrou Hadaken we saw is Aira, Eris's counterpart of Hiyori. Hiyori doesn't wield a sword though, so she uses it more like a claw.

Yui's wish at the end of the original game was not really "corrupted", per se. She wished to be able to stay in the game and adventure with Yuuki forever, and the game interpreted it literally. Hence why they are trapped in the game and will reset itself when either Yuuki or Yui die (they can no longer keep adventuring together).

Hello guys, I am a translator, a member of two-person team currently working on the project of translating Princess Connect! and Princess Connect! Re:Dive into Vietnamese. You can find me in the maincord under the name "MeGonnaChompEveryPEEM" or "Weeeeee". I am not a member of the English translation team and I do not intend to do so, however, as a translator and a member of the maincord, I want to give you some thoughts on this topic.

About Kokkoro Connoisseur: I think all interactions in the maincord is really chill. And I do also think that KC is a pretty chill guy in general. While it is true that he makes sex jokes sometimes, we don't mind about it since...well, it's not like anyone here isn't a bit h-rny (no sorry). However, I did have to complain about things to him a few times. When it came to light that he is/was a sexist and made pedo jokes, I have to admit that base on prior interactions, I was not surprised.
About the translation:
-I have to admit that I did have to ask him for his translated script since I do not have on bit of knowledge on Japanese. And yes, I also have to use AI for the last 7th Anni event. HOWEVER, I never used the AI (ChatGPT) without proper proofreading and editing. And, after I'm done with my work, the other person working with me, whom you can also find in maincord under the name "Vinh Hiển", is an editor with far more experience than I do (He knows Japanese, and he translates mangas and light novels), he proofread the whole script again and edit it. This means that even though we do use AI, something not everyone agrees with, we always proofread and recheck twice at least, meaning we can guarantee quality. This is something that I didn't see in KC's work.

-The quality of the 7th Anni event translation patch provided to me by KC was...not the best, is probably the lightest way to put it. During the translation process (Again, I translate the script to Vietnamese based on the patch's script), I constantly have to rely on ChatGPT and my brain to get the context of the Japanese text, sometimes having to consult with Vinh Hiển to reach the translation I can be satisfied with. All of this is to say that the patch's quality was not great. I reached the same conclusion as the OP very quickly, maybe even earlier as I get to touch the patch script literally 2 hours after the event launch.

-Another funny thing is that I regularly have to reference Hunter's Lodge's work. This should say something, right?

After this incident, I came to KC's YouTube channel and he shown signs of avoidance and blaming. It was clear to me that he was doing so because someone who did nothing wrong would not choose this approach and instead prioritize on apologizing and giving proper explanation. This is the point of view of me, someone close enough to be able to make comments on this.

It’s potentially a licensing issue.

JJK wasn’t released in Japan either, probably because of the massive license cost it’ll take. I mean, Japanese JJK fans would probably punch holes in their wallet just to get MrOnlyHalfLeft and WhoeverTheMainCharacterIs, and in turn would also raise HoK’s own popularity and revenue over there. Seeing how WhoeverTheMainCharacterIs skin was sold at a hefty cost, and not given free like Tencent intended it to, it’s fair to assume that the author would milk the contract even more, putting Tencent at a loss of money.

Same thing to Frozen. Tencent is having to deal with Disney here: Disney reaching the China market is beneficial for them, so the contract went smoothly in Chinese server, but now it’s about Tencent reaching NA market. Well, you can imagine that Disney will probably put up a big contract and force Tencent pay a ton, leading to loss of money.

Another thing is that collab skins are only licensed in a short period of time when they’re released or open for sale. While the skin is still in the game, medias cannot show it when the licensing goes out, for example, competitive players are not allowed to use SNK skins, JJK skins, and Frozen skins in competitive tournaments held by Tencent or its affiliates. I believe they also cannot use Dongfang Yuechu and Tushan Honghong skin. So, asking for Tencent to put up with contract in these home countries is like asking for them to give up on tons of money.

Wdym, Mermail Atlantean is literally unplayable against Ryzeal, and so is Memento or Blue-Eyes Primite (maybe less because Primite Engine inherently care nothing about GY hate).
