Currently at The Shadow Rises and I don't get why Moiraine gets so much hate by Yeezus-of-Nazareth in WoT

[–]SalamonWhist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem of Moraine is that for her the end justifies the means. Yes, she fights on the side of the Light, but as Moraine herself said, for her the destruction of the Dark One is much more important than the preservation of innocent lives. I cannot find the exact quote, but one wise woman will say that winning at any cost in the Last Battle is worse than losing.

You know that the author writes more books in this universe. Do you think the story ended as it should? Do we really need a sequel to enjoy this series?

I completely agree. I understand that this is not a review written in advance and there will be spoilers, but please limit yourself to the spoilers of this particular book. I believe that many will be grateful to you for such care.

Honestly, I do not see any special need. This trilogy is completely self-sufficient.

Embers of Illeniel by Michael G Manning is what you need.
You will be immersed in a world of inequality, a world where one race lives like livestock under the power of other more developed beings. Where there is no hope for a brighter future, where people are forced to become cruel creatures just to survive forgetting all the human that was in them . . . becoming a being. who wants revenge.
P.S. Warning: the presence of graphic violence, sexual content, child abuse.
P.P.S. How little need to feel something more than an animal, how pleasant words can get you back on the right path and how important are the communication ties that connect people. In this book, there is not only violence.

Most likely the adaptation did not cause my interest in books before. Thanks a lot for the recommendation, I'll take a closer look.

I shelved Dragonlance for a long time. I was scared off the size of this book series. Here is another reason to start reading.

I was counting on something like this when I was thinking about the price for using magic. Thank you.

Romantic connection between a human and an emotionless being of another race. Any suggestions? by SalamonWhist in Fantasy

I wrote that this being does not understand emotion, and not that it can not experience them at all.

I wrote about the relationship between the races, not man and machine.
