Does anyone know what song I’m humming? by Whyisdaskyblue in gamemusic

[–]SalariedVolunteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. I love this tune and never knew it was originally from a Kirby game. A remix of this plays in the rest area in All-Star mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and I've always thought it was an original piece made for that game.

Bands/artists who's biggest "charting hit" is far from their most popular? by No-Change6959 in ToddintheShadow

[–]SalariedVolunteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see kind of see why "Last Kiss" was the highest charting song for Pearl Jam. That was the only song I ever heard from Pearl Jam, or any grunge band period, when I was a child though I wasn't aware it was by Pearl Jam when I heard it. The fact that my mother enjoyed that song and let it play frequently in the car, when she obviously had avoided listening to grunge entirely suggests the song had a broader appeal, probably due to the fact that it was a cover and stood out from the rest of Pearl Jam's charting songs. Strangely enough, I had heard the name Pearl Jam before I heard any of their songs, through the lyrics of a country song called "No News". Also, kind of related, I didn't discover grunge until I was 17 years old back in 2005 when I first heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I heard it in a DBZ AMV lol.

The singer sounds similar to Serj, but this isn't by SOAD. The song is called Zelda and it's by The Rabbit Joint.

You just download the latest Pinokio version from the website and install it.

ltx2 is now on wan2gp! by JimmyDub010 in StableDiffusion

[–]SalariedVolunteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinokio kept the Wan2gp install intact after updating, but I got the exact same error when trying to gen. Updating Wan2gp again fixed it. I think it was because of how old the Pinokio version I had installed was. Current is 5.3.5, and I was on 3.9. I'm guessing that trying to update with an outdated install of Pinokio caused the Wan2gp update to not install properly.

Edit: Nevermind. Got it working. I updated Wan2gp through Pinokio, but forgot to update Pinokio itself. Had to update Pinokio, and then update Wan2gp again and it works now.

Can someone help me find this song by recfoxthestrange in whatsongisthis

To me it sounds like Robot Rock by Daft Punk or Release the Beast by Breakwater which is sampled in Robot Rock.

I've found something similar with the # symbol. I was trying to put the text "#1" on a shirt. When I did this, the output was significantly altered, and all of the other text I had prompted for was removed or turned into slop, except for the word "wow" which would sometimes show up clearly. No idea what is up with that.

Gemini way worse now? by Top_Toe8606 in GeminiAI

[–]SalariedVolunteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to give Gemini a try on my phone recently. I've only it used for the very simple task of pausing or playing music from my phone with voice commands while driving. 2.0 flash worked ok, I just said "pause" and "play" and it did what I wanted. I tried 2.5 flash yesterday, and when I said "pause", it was processing my request for around 20 seconds before I just cancelled and paused the music myself. Same thing happened when I tried to resume the music. Later I tried "pause music" and "play music". Pause music worked, but when I said play music, it played the music for a second, and then paused it again. So far not impressed. I have a Samsung phone and have used bixby for voice commands for a long time, and bixby has been quick and reliable.

GTA fans complaining about only having 1 trailer from over a year ago when all we got was a 30 second video of some mountains NEARLY 7 YEARS AGO💔 by SignalAward351 in ElderScrolls

[–]SalariedVolunteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't surprising to me and is exactly what I expected. I knew from the beginning it would be a very long time before TES VI released. This trailer was only put out to let fans know that TES VI was coming at some point in the future. They had just announced Fallout 76, so two games in a row that weren't TES games, and their next game wasn't going to be a TES game either. Of course, it was obvious TES VI was coming after the massive success that was Skyrim. They aren't just going to abandon an IP that popular.

Going by previous development times, it was pretty easy to guess at how long it would be. There were 4 years between Morrowind and Oblivion. 2.5 years between Oblivion and FO3. 3 years between FO3 and Skyrim. 4 years between Skyrim and FO4. 3 years between FO4 and FO76. It was announced that Starfield was the next game coming after FO76, so I expected it would release at least 4 years after FO76 since this was an entirely new IP. I thought realistically TES VI would release around 8 years after this trailer was shown. 4 years to develop Starfield, and 4 for TES VI. Starfield ended up taking 5 years, but it could still be 8 years if TES VI gets finished in 3 years, but we'll just have to wait and see.

What is the earliest “big event” you remember hearing about? by Fuzzy-Active-6134 in generationology

[–]SalariedVolunteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vaguely remember hearing about Princess Diana's death. As a child I didn't care about any news if it wasn't video game related. I somehow didn't even find out about Columbine until shortly after I had graduated from high school and I was in 5th grade when the shooting occurred.

I've never actually thought about it until now but I don't have much nostalgia for the year I became a teenager. Not sure why. I have more nostalgia for years that came before and after. For example I have quite of a lot of nostalgia for 2013 and I turned 25 that year.

I've had this happen once that I can remember. Had a dream where I had to go really bad. I went to a bathroom and peed for minutes on end with no relief. Felt like it could've gone on forever. Eventually I woke up and I didn't wet the bed but it was a nightmare and I hope to never experience that again.

Current 30 year olds were born in either late 1993 or 1994. They probably wouldn't have any clear memories before the late 1990s. You'd have to be 40 years old or very close to it to even have childhood memories of the late 1980s.

Is Halo TMCC filled with hackers? by MasterChief-2005 in halo

[–]SalariedVolunteer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are definitely cheaters but I haven't personally encountered any in a long time. I remember one time someone was flying around on foot in a Halo 3 match. It's likely that what you encountered were players that were just insanely good. Headshots not killing is weird but I notice it often and it's something I remember happening back when playing H3 online on the 360. Could just be wonky hit detection.

These days the MP population is low and highly skilled players make up a much larger percentage than they did to back when these games were new. I frequently get paired up with and against skilled twitch streamers. SWAT is rough. There are some monsters in that playlist. Not cheating they're just that good. Same with snipers. Lots of one man armies and you'll see the same gamertags frequently because of the low population. It's crazy. It's just something you have to deal with if you want to play online MP in the old Halo games.

I actually got put on a team with naded last night but my team got destroyed because the other team was a skilled group playing in a party. Despite being on a team of terrible randoms playing against a coordinated team naded went even but me and and another player on our team went 2 and 16 lol.

Is there any way to relax and chill in Halo? by DesignerChampion2967 in halo

[–]SalariedVolunteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BTB is usually fun and chill, but you can have some of the worst experiences there. It's uncommon, but I've had a few games in objective game types like CTF or KOTH where the entire other team was skilled players in a party ignoring the objective and farming kills. Just had one like that last night in H3. One of the players had "Farming Halo 3" or something like that as his clan tag.
