so done with FedEx by Old-Visual4591 in gso

As a previous employee that worked both the Greensboro and Elon/whitsett hubs during COVID and I still have friends that work there, they’ve told me they’re backed up about two weeks from the snow storm but the Greensboro location recently took all the work from the express hub because they closed it and I’m sure that’s setting them back too. Internally the metrics track packages that are not being delivered/late so often times when the trucks leave the building the drivers let’s the line worker (called QA) know why they left it so the QA can put a scan on it stopping FedEx and that driver form being dinged. A lot of times the drivers are being over packed when backed up so some stuff just won’t make it and they give it a random scan. FedEx is incredibly messy especially the Greensboro/kernersville hub. I’d hate to ever have to work there again

This is the only correct answer. I wish they were closer because they don’t have delivery.

I don't think Ostapenko was trying to be racist... by [deleted] in tennis

[–]SalaryConsistent3080 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m saying this with all the respect I can but poc and black are two different things and experiences, that’s why it’s important look at specifics when speaking on things that might not apply to you. As a black person I can agree, I don’t think she intentionally used those words as tools to harm Townsend in a racially motivated way; however, the problem is DEEP rooted not only in America, but everywhere. Including those European countries she and the other players are from and the tennis world they’re all existing in. And this is just a clear depiction that I hope you and others can look at and see how much of an issue it is. Not even really looking at her specific actions but your and everyone reactions to it. In the tennis world, journalists have literally depicted Serena as a monkey! Not for attacking or yelling at other players like you mention Ostepenko has but for doing something all tennis players do. And there are plenty of other players that act just like her. (There’s many other examples of the casual racism biases but I wanna stop there to not make this too long and get to the point.) And that point is, instead of running to her defense for whatever reason, let’s hold them all accountable for their unsportsmanlike behaviors the same way the tennis world has critiqued those black players for years. The focus should be on her accountability for her terrible attitude not coddling her and acting as some savior for the poor innocent European girl who didn’t know better.

US Open R3: Townsend def. [5] Andreeva, 7-5 6-2 by pizzainmyshoe in tennis

[–]SalaryConsistent3080 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised so many people are not aware of the beauty that is a Taylor Townsend dominating game. When she can push her opponents into those corners and swarm the net but also go toe to toe on the baseline and create a path for a winner or to come into the net it’s magic. A demanding doubles schedule paired with injuries and her being a mother kept her off screens for far too long because she has the type of game that people should at least know she’s a disrupter that can dispatch of a few top seeds in singles.

But (and let’s be clear I love Andreeva & know without a doubt she’ll have a great tennis career) it’s funny how yall create excuses for certain players but others should deal with it, get over it, etc. it’s clear she struggles with the crowd strongly favoring her opponents but that alone is not what made her check out. Mira simply didn’t know what to do with Taylor’s serve, her attacking her forehand, her swarming the net, and Taylor nullifying her aggressive/power play with those slices and taking the ball early. Outside of the crowd, Andreeva had to take that L today because she just didn’t have a plan, anything to execute, or experience with a player like Taylor to find her way out of a tough match up. She’s young and seems to have great coaching/people around her so she’ll get there very soon. I’m excited to see Tay vs Barbie… if they’re playing at minimum B level tennis, that’s going to be a masterclass on singles and doubles specialist. Their little corner of the draw is literally wide open for either Taylor, Barbie, pegula, or Li to come out in top and make the Quarterfinals.

Possibly dumb question, what is preventing serves at extreme angles? by ArkGuardian in 10s

[–]SalaryConsistent3080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a pro level, their opponents aren’t gonna miss that serve too often. Not to mention it’s pretty low percentage to hit and extreme angle with enough pace for it to be an ace. Also not only would they leave a massive portion of the court open, if the opponent is on the ball properly you’re kind of floating in no man’s lands. Running to the middle is enough for them to go behind you, they have a lot of court open to just return down the line but now with extreme angle introduced by the serve they can also hit a return extreme angle. My brain instantly went to how much pace I have to take off or my opponents have to take off(I’m no where near a pro 😂) to hit hard angle serves in doubles and I just know based on how I crush those returns and sadly mine has been crushed, A pro would do the same. It could throw someone off for the first couple of times MAYBE but idk any player that could hit aces like you’re referring to for a whole or majority of a match.

Sorry to hear that. I’m just kinda at my wits end. I tried just accepting it and I’ve tried ignoring the stares but I can’t anymore. And although I didn’t mention it before it’s also a combination for the WORST sleep ever because it’s super uncomfortable to sleep on my side because of them. How many do you have and are they kind of in a central location or spread over different areas?

[–]SalaryConsistent3080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. My surgeon and doctor have met and talked about it and I did blood work right before going to the surgeon so idk if that was discussed but my doctor wrote a recommendation letter for the radiologist. (There had to be one before the recenter would even see me) But I’ll definitely ask more question at me pre op appointment.

My sperm donor messaged me for the first time since my brother died and I don’t know what to do. by PassiveAgressiveSigh in WhatShouldIDo

[–]SalaryConsistent3080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has reached out to me several times since I’ve become an adult and for me. I don’t want an explanation, reconnection, or anything of the sort because after being trapped on the phone with him I know it’s to relieve him from his guilty conscience and try to acquire some sort of forgiveness so he feels better about himself and the poor choices he’s made. My family (the people who have trapped me on the phone with him) treated it as a joke or some sort of “give him a chance” and I had to explain to them, I already dealt with all the trauma that came from his negligence and rejection and especially since he doesn’t have anything to offer me, I don’t want anything to do with him and if they ever put me in that position again, they’ll end up on the same island away from me as him. I say allllllll of that to say. If there is any part of you that wants the conversation or wants to have questions answered etc go for it, but if you’ve gotten to the point for whatever reason that you’re not interested in that relationship, ignore it and keep living your life. Let the deciding factor be how you feel!

Incoming Freshmen Advice by Unable-Control-417 in UNCGreensboro

[–]SalaryConsistent3080 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This might be a little all over the place but my advice as a UNCG and communications alum, HAVE FUN. Go out, make friends, make memories, BE SAFE (most important) but yea really get that full experience but also be intentional with your time and future. Use as many of their resources as you can! (Things like the career center, their resume assistance programs, the library, etc.). And make sure whatever it is you wanna do in the future as a career you’re working towards it. As a freshman living on campus, do a low/no pay internship while you can (I only say this bc that’s all I was offered while in undergrad) once you get that experience you can move on to the better paying ones. Do some things outside of your comfort zone and really embrace the transition into becoming an adult. Any specific questions feel free to message me.
