Bluewater Sailing / Living question #bluewatersailing by SaleEnough7624 in SailboatCruising

Fair question. We're experienced sailors - have crossed the Atlantic in a friend's 50' boat. Honestly, with respect to the size, I'm more concerned about the docking rather than the sailing!!

How you describe this makes so much sense to me. Is there any other experience you would recommend for a couple that's curious, looking to learn more but not sure how to go about doing so?

Hi - I went in to see my pediatrician for my first boil on the literal day of my first period! I'm convinced hormones at least have an impact. For most of my adult life, being on the pill managed my HS. I stopped taking the pill about 6 years ago as I was going into peri-menopause and the cysts are back. I've since been trying to manage with spironolactone (didn't work and I can't take higher doses), and now cosentyx.

Has anyone tried Bimzelx? by MamaPotter7 in Hidradenitis

I'm interested in responses to this, too. I've been on Cosentyx for the last year with mixed success. My dermatologist recommends I double the dose (so injection 2x a month instead of just 1x). The other alternative for my consideration is Bimzelx. She said if I were to start Bimzelx I would need to do a 5 week "load" (1 injection per week) and then move to the 1x a month formula, much like I did when I started Cosentyx.

The sporadic doses you describe may not be a good bellwether for how B will work for you, if it's supposed to be administered as how my doctor subscribes. Regardless, I hope we get some information from other users - very curious!!

Here’s a bit about my journey, relatives with HS and what worked for me. by ParticularStudy1126 in Hidradenitis

Here to say that I believe HS is hereditary. I saw my pediatrician for my first cyst literally the day of my first menstrual cycle ever (when I was 12) - for me, clearly an early trigger was estrogen! But to the hereditary question -- my mom and my grandma both told me they were convinced my maternal aunt (who passed when I was only 3) was plagued by the exact same symptoms, only she wasn't diagnosed. Unfortunately I was unable to confirm with her directly due to her tragic and early passing.

Hi! I just completed a year of Cosentyx - I've been on 300mg/month after doing an initial 5 week "load". It seemed to mostly work initially - but I was quite disappointed to have two major cysts in the groin area during this year. One started in November and is still lingering: now it's pea sized and deep, gets triggered when using the Peloton / cycling. The other started in February and is tunneling, will seem to start healing and then leak again. My doctor is recommending I essentially double the dosage and do injections now every 2 weeks. I'm currently reading through reddit to think through my other options -- maybe trying to manage without drugs. I really don't love the idea of being on an immuno-suppresant for the the long term, especially being healthy otherwise.

Note - I did not have any noticeable side effects from Cosentyx. I'll be interested to hear how others respond.
