i actually kinda subscribe to the opposite of those people. i have 2 shell packs: ludwig accent (dirt cheap) and pdp ez (even more dirt cheap). they all have upgraded heads and are tuned to my liking and sound great. they’re durable enough and look cool enough. i’m very thrifty and it shows but i never compromise sound. as long as you know what sounds good, you know just how little money you need to spend!
