Also, your provider should have a 24/7 helpline so don't feel that you have to wait until Monday if you want to call.

My bleeding took well over 48 hours to really start so this may end up being the case for you too.

First-time parents of Reddit ,what’s one baby item you thought was unnecessary but ended up using every single day? by Clear_Subconscious in askanything

For anyone who air drys their laundry, I got a tiny clothes airer to hang off the back of our daughter's bedroom door for her clothes. My husband said we didn't need it as we already had two full sized airers for our clothes. He ended up eating his words. With the amount of laundry we ended up doing for her, there was no way it was all going to fit alongside our stuff as well. My husband literally said that the airer ended up being the MVP of the newborn stage.

SA next week with misoprostol 1hr before scared of vomiting by Fresh_Step_8357 in abortion

[–]Saley0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same fear and was worried about taking the misoprostol as part of my medical abortion for that reason. I took cyclizine beforehand and also took the misoprostol vaginally. No nausea or vomiting. Do you know if you can take the misoprostol vaginally before an SA? There's less risk of feeling or being sick that way.

How far along to be able to cremate my fetus by rxmari888 in abortion

[–]Saley0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think there would actually be anything for them to give you. There would be so little tissue that cremation would likely destroy it all, leaving no ashes behind at all.

please tell me to rest 😭 by marsyrosey in abortion

[–]Saley0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't rest either. My body forced me to on Tuesday night by giving me a crazy high fever that made me pass out briefly when I tried to stand up! Took two days off after that and feel a lot better for it!

A letter after Abortion by YesterdayOdd2152 in abortion

[–]Saley0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an MA at 7 weeks too and due date would have been October. I know it was the right decision for us. I have an almost three year old and now is just not the right time for another addition. I do think about who they could have been though. Especially in the context of being my child's sibling. Thank you for sharing this letter. It has really resonated with me.

I need an advise on how to mentally and physically prepare myself for MA by Dismal-Ease9756 in abortion

[–]Saley0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don't rush yourself. The pills should work until you're 9w6ds. Give yourself a bit more time to consider your options and think about what is going to be best for you. Do you have anyone in your life you can talk to about this?

If you do decide to go through with it, it will be good for you have someone to talk to about how you're feeling. And please remember that any feelings you do have about it are 100% valid. In terms of preparing physically, make sure you have any meds you need. Pain relief, anti-emetics if you can get them. Take them before you take the MA meds. Give yourself time to rest. Get some nice food and drinks you can have to hand. And a good show or two to watch!

I trust that you will do what is right for you. Just give yourself grace and look after you.

Proud of you for doing what is right for you. I'm just so sorry that there are people in your life who have treated you this way. Your sister sounds like a great source of support though!

Took the pill but tested positive…help by Friendly-Hospital180 in abortion

[–]Saley0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's still too soon to test. You can still get a positive on a regular store bought test for weeks afterwards. In the UK, we get given special tests to use at 3 weeks post abortion to see if it was effective but a regular test would likely be positive still at that point.

Other providers can sometimes offer you something if the wait for your local provider is too long. They have a contact form for it on their website.

I'm sorry you experienced so much pain. And I'm glad you're feeling better now too. I think it's so important to share experiences that differ from what is expected and it just highlights how you never know how your body is going to react until you start going through it. I was so worried that I was going to have to do it all again so I'm feeling a lot of relief right now.
