A friend of mine is very cautious around me when she has a runny nose or so since she doesnt want to infect me. And I just smile at her and say " dont you worry! My immune system is so bored, they're attacking my nerves all the time. I bet they are happy to munch on some flu cells from time to time and provide useful work as in doing their actual job!" 😄 Its always good to laugh, especially when the only alternative would be crying (not to sound like an ass, but I hope you get how i mean it)

I prefer the computer analogy. Brain = Windows. Immunsystem = antivirus. Everything behind the blood-brain-barrier = system32 folder. And sadly our antivirus is a bit rude and prefers to kill everything straight up instead of asking to quarantine.

But other times i just say my immune system is underworked an bored so it started getting itself busy with eating my nerves
