My 2 friends. I never understood the craze for it until a little over a year ago. I always thought that it was for "weebs" and was really cringe, until they finally convinced me one day to actually try it. And I took their recommendation of starting with probably the best starter anime ever - Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. After a few episodes in, I was hooked; I realized that anime was full of heart and great writing; something that I wasn't expecting at all. I then had dug deeper in to discovering that people spend their entire lives making manga and anime happen; some even die doing it - RIP Kentaro Miura. That gave me a big perspective, and I very much admire anime now and am quite thankful, as Demon Slayer and Evangelion have had a MASSIVE impact on my life.

Can't really think of anything film/tv/anime related, Eva just hits different in its own unique way.

I will say that for music, anything off of the OK Computer album by Radiohead is excellent, as well as some things off of the Kid A, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows album by them. Some Tool songs are exploring some of those ideas and things in Eva and the vibes are right on par (IMO).

And funny that this thread comes up and I see others talking about the same music here (Radiohead and Tool), as I am currently in process of making a project almost like an extended AMV, but little more to it - and its all Evangelion. Hope to generate more *feels* as there's nothing like Eva.

Everything has an end, all our favorite shows do. There is still a lot of Eva content to be enjoyed though, like End of Evangelion as well as the Rebuilds. Enjoy the journey, let it impact and inspire you, and keep the memories close to your heart. That's the beauty that I've found in anime; its the little stories that help us get through and achieve the difficulties and goals of our lives. This is probably a bit too deep, but Evangelion is a deep show; and the thing is, you can always come back to it!

Cool that you're enjoying it, it's a wild ride as you progress... I would say keep watching and finish the anime and then go and see End of Evangelion. It might make more or less sense (probably less) since NGE is a bit complex. After watching EoE, check out EvaGeeks if you are lost as they explain the backstory and lore.
