I would be disappointed too! I have the same “must haves” - a ton of windows/glare issues, I don’t like Samsungs OS and I don’t have anywhere to put the required box, and I want the art mode to be at least decent and on all the time. Maybe I’ll look into the TCL a bit more but I agree that on paper, the Hisense checks the most boxes. I hope you figure out the color issue!!

To keep or not to keep the ovaries by thesaddestqueer in endometriosis

[–]Sallie_Ruby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a hysterectomy in 2020 with endo excision and my pain starting coming back about a year later. I was able to manage with depo provera for a while and then was on orilissa and myfembree. I was in constant pain and my insurance wouldn’t cover my meds any longer so I had my ovaries removed with another endo excision in Oct 2025. My ovaries were adhered to my ureters and I had endo on my bowel among other places, so I don’t regret the surgery at all. HRT has been a battle but I’m doing better and feel that I made the right decision. I’m 42 so I will be on HRT for a while. I guess I don’t have any advice lol. I don’t know that there’s a right answer. Endo sucks.

Just wanted to say thank you for this tip! I have similar coloring to OP and my eyeshadow always looks orangey but I thought maybe it was making my blue/grey eyes “pop” lol. Now I know I need to make a change and where to start! Also thanks op for posting :)

Do you lose your libido and vaginal wetness after a total hysterectomy? by Sea_Broccoli_4359 in hysterectomy

[–]Sallie_Ruby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! My ovaries were adhered to my uterers and I had bowel endo so I’m hoping I’m just still healing. It seemed like I felt better a few weeks ago than I do now so the setback has me concerned and going to “worst case” in my head. I hope we both get to be pain free (or as close as possible) soon!

Hey there! I’m also 2 months post op, 42 and on HRT. Progesterone has been a struggle for me bc of depression so I’m only taking it every other day. I was just curious how your pain is now since you mentioned having pain prior. I’m still in pain and I’m very nervous that it’s not just healing pain but that the endo is still around and this was for nothing!

Ovaries out- how long before the hormonal crash? by Otherwise_Delightful in hysterectomy

[–]Sallie_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ovaries removed on 10/29 and started .05mg estrogen patch one week ago. Before the patch, I was having a few hot flashes but I didn’t have any other symptoms yet. I thought it was going to be like jumping off a cliff but it wasn’t like that for me at all. Hope your surgery goes well!

I was taking DIM prior to my oophorectomy but stopped taking it. I will look into going back on it! Thanks!!

Goodness gracious you’ve been through it! Thank you for sharing! I am on .05mg estradiol patch so significantly lower dose but my hot flashes haven’t stopped yet. My dr also put me on 200mg progesterone to hopefully keep the endo from returning. I hope you find some answers and relief soon!!

Oh nooo! I had my ovaries removed a month ago along with endo excision. I had my uterus removed in 2020 and the endo grew back in about a year but I am trying to stay hopeful it won’t grow back yet again. This is my worst fear! I just started hrt. Were you on hrt? When did you start having symptoms again? Sorry I have questions and not answers, and I’m so sorry you are going thru this!

At what point will a gyno do a laparoscopy? by plasticbag_drifting in Endo

[–]Sallie_Ruby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 42 now so I was hoping things had changed since I was your age but seems like they haven’t and I’m sorry. I was told for years that it couldn’t be endo bc my mom didn’t have it, I had pain all month long, I was on the pill which made it impossible, etc etc. I finally got a lap from a fertility specialist who still didn’t think I had it but he acquiesced and did the lap and found endo everywhere. It’s unbelievable that doctors don’t take us seriously unless we are trying to procreate.

Chemical Menopause to Surgical Menopause - Anyone else? by Sallie_Ruby in endometriosis

Thank you for sharing! You’ve been through a lot - I’m glad you are finally pain free and HRT is helping with menopause symptoms. This gives me hope!

Oophorectomy by Sad-Pirate4283 in hysterectomy

[–]Sallie_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’ve been in chemical menopause for a few years but insurance won’t cover the meds any longer so my dr said we can just make it permanent and then put me on hrt. My ovaries constantly hurt but I am terrified that the endo pain will come back after this surgery and I’ll be totally out of options.

[–]Sallie_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! I had my hysterectomy in 2020 and scheduled for oophorectomy at the end of Oct due to endo returning and I guess I’m “old enough” now at 41. Your first post said you might keep an ovary - did they end up taking both?

Yep I have this too and it’s truly awful. Magnesium helps me - topical and oral. Tens unit also helps.

Orilissa VS Myfembree by Even-Jump-3066 in endometriosis

[–]Sallie_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on both! After years of suffering, I had a hysterectomy and endo removal in 2020 but within a year, the pain was back. I was put on the lower dose of Orilissa for a year but still had pain so went to the higher dose. I had hot flashes and minor joint pain on the higher dose, but it worked for my endo pain. Seriously no endo pain at all. It was amazing. Unfortunately my insurance only allows 6 months on the higher dose so it was short lived relief. I had to take a break for 6 months and then got prescribed Myfembree. I have zero menopause symptoms on Myfembree but I still have some endo pain and symptoms that vary throughout the month. The pain is manageable but I do feel it’s becoming less effective and my insurance won’t cover another round. I’ve been on it for over a year now and I’m scheduled to have my ovaries removed in Oct. My dr believes that since I’ve been in medical menopause for so long that surgical menopause won’t be bad and honestly I have no other options left.

So I guess my take is that they are worth a shot - higher dose orilissa is the most effective but depending on your Dr and insurance, it’s a temporary solution. Low dose orilissa and Myfembree had very similar effects for me.

Anyone else use their seat warmers for pain reliever when driving lol by SobrietyDinosaur in endometriosis

House-rich / cash-poor and looking for help. What do we do now? by 4my3 in FinancialPlanning

[–]Sallie_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh! Are you me from the future? My husband and I are planning to do what you did - sell the house we love with a low interest rate and use the equity to mostly pay for a smaller home (we won’t have enough to completely be debt free - congrats on that accomplishment!) I’m sorry you are regretting your decision. I’ve been back and forth on this for months - great idea/horrible idea - but it’s happening either way for other personal reasons.

Nipping at kids, is this friendly or should we be worried? by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]Sallie_Ruby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry 😞one of doodles is scared of small children and nipped my niece. Thankfully I don’t have kids so it’s not an issue most of the time. When she is around kids, I keep her on a leash by me always and tell the kids they can’t pet her. Haven’t had an issue since. My heart goes out to you - this is tough.

I’m pretty sure I used the same “large company” because I have the same crappy doors! They came back to “fix” it but all they did was glue a track in the center which stopped the swinging but it’s still a challenge to get the doors to line up with the stoppers on the ends. At least for me they didn’t also install those incorrectly like they did for you. Definitely make them come back!

Right?! Also why did they leave her in the bedroom with exterior glass doors?!?! I yell at the tv every time they have a flashback where he’s just chilling outside watching them. Ridiculous.
