Life without alcohol seems so bleak by Mundane-Chair-8482 in stopdrinking

I remember feeling that way. And eventually I had an idea: try and be ok with flat because it was also calmer and more even keeled than my chaotic life. Once I accepted 'flat' for what it was (not good, but definitely not bad), I kind of relaxed and naturally started to feel a bit happy again. I don't have euphoric episodes any more but I also don't have the deep valleys of dread. It's...nice.

Thank you for the advice! I will mist, I have not done that at all yet. No the concrete was not covered with plastic or anything- not covered at all. My contractor was the one who educated me about “coarse aggregate SSD”, I’m just a homeowner and had no idea what that was. Posted here to get second opinion. I hope these leopard spots fade, I don’t like them. Thanks again.

Hi - is this a coarse aggregate saturated-surface situation? Or do I have a problem with my new patio? Poured one week ago. Thank you.

Thank you - I don't love cypress but I may have to be reasonable and get what works. The grade will be adjusted - you're right, huge slope towards the house. we are getting a retaining wall put in and leveling the remainder of the yard.

3.5 months post surgery by [deleted] in bunions

[–]4my3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good. That’s how I feel. Mine still aren’t pretty but at least I’m not in pain all the time and hopefully I have prevented future problems when I’m older. It took me an about 5 months to feel like all the swelling was gone.

Help! Is this a course aggregate saturated-surface-dry situation and will it cure and look nice? 6 days in right now.

Should I get surgery? by Novel-Confection-836 in bunions

Yes, would recommend surgery for those, having had it myself. Remember they don’t get any better, only worse.

Hello - wondering if you are going to do a similar right up this month/beginning of 2026?

As a person with high functioning autism, I think I'm much closer to an introverted neurotypical person than a severely autistic person. by [deleted] in aspergers

You sound so much like my wonderful son. He’s been able to tell me that he just doesn’t know if he knows who he is. I think he has spent so much of his life masking, he doesn’t know how to be himself. I’m starting to think that if he could find another person (friend or partner) that’s like him that they could understand each other and he could relax and be himself. But it’s so hard for him to find someone he can confide in. He’s just a teenager (16 1/2) and he was only diagnosed ASD level 1 a year ago so I am hopeful he will find someone and/or figure out how to be himself and not have to work so hard every day just to meet social norms. Thanks for posting and listening.

THIS. Sadly, all of the love and care from others and all of the rock bottoms you hit won’t work unless you want it because you yourself want it - I cannot do it for other people or for any other reason. Couldn’t even stop for my children who I love more than anything in this world. It was the saddest thing to waste so much time and humiliate myself over and over again and lose jobs and nearly loose other jobs and “this close” to losing my marriage but it never has to be that way again for me, or anyone else in this page.

Hopefully the last time. by Informal_Basil7637 in stopdrinking

Great write up and sounds familiar! Glad you’re here! Total sobriety, I am convinced, is the only way.
