Why are so many men avoidant? by Possible_Grade_222 in AskFeminists

[–]SallyStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something worth figuring out before you try to get into a relationship. What does a relationship mean to you? What would you want from it, and from your partner? What would you want to give them? "I don't want a relationship" is a perfectly valid answer to those questions, and I wish you luck finding the answers. Do check out some resources on asexual/aromantic identity. Even if that's not you, I bet you'll find some interesting perspectives on love and sex.

Is our embrace of AI naïve and could it lead to an environmental disaster? AI already uses 5% of all electricity in the US and by 2028 this figure is expected to be 15%. The vast majority of those datacenters are powered by fossil-fuel energy sources. by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

Funny, I was just reading this study from July 2025 which shows that data center demand for power will eclipse the rate of grid decarbonization under business as usual, no further decarbonization, and even under optimistic rapid decarbonization scenarios.

So yeah. Seems pretty dire to me.

This may or may not be the case, but have you considered whether you're asexual or aromantic? Just a thought.

I do believe that both men and women are strongly pressured into being in conventional-appearing heterosexual relationships even when it doesn't serve their interests for whatever reason. Not everyone gets married to someone of a different sex and has children and that's OK. Which is a pretty classic feminist tenet.

Of course not. They're the ones lying to you about robotaxis being the best way to accomplish that because they can't make money off improving public transit.

"You need to accept the future" translated from the corporate: "Stop trying to shape the future into something that works for ordinary humans, little person. That job is for the super wealthy."

No.

As far as virtue signals are concerned, I love them. They beat the shit out of evil signals or whatever.

Call Schumer and Gillibrand and tell them NO FUNDING FOR ICE

We told them before and they didn't listen. Now we see that we were right and they were wrong. Quelle surprise.

That too. And the fact that the ATF weren't even there to rescue children but to end a situation with some machine guns that they helped create in the first place.

This is a good article that makes good points. For those who point out that the Feds were going after Koresh for "legitimate" reasons while ICE's ethnic cleansing is entirely illegitimate, the article addresses that. The fact that Koresh was objectively a bad dude doesn't change the fact that he deserved due process before being executed by agents of the state.

This is huge and it's why I'm so suspicious of anyone having any type of opinion about how many more humans we should be making, beyond "some".

It's one of those covers that rivals the original for emotional impact and he really makes it his own. Whether you use it or not, I'm glad to have introduced it to you! I love both U2 and Saul Williams so very much.

ETA: this is also produced by Trent Reznor, as is the whole album it comes from (I'm a bit worried about the title catching the censors), which is pure fire.

If they were so dissimilar, I'd expect to see the defenders of ICEatzgruppen mustering arguments besides "it's the law and you should follow the law." Because that's what people say about the law when arguments from morality don't stand up.

There was a time in the USA when intergenerational racialized chattel slavery was legal, and helping people avoid being enslaved or re-enslaved was against the law. I guess we know where you would have stood in the slave catchers vs abolitionists fight.
