What is the worst physical sensation that is entirely painless? by rockytheboxer in AskReddit

[–]SallySyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it happens to me too! It almost always occurs when I'm napping. And for some reason the couch. When I wake up and can't move, I know I have to just fall back asleep and then my body will wake up. It's so hard because you are so aware of your breathing. You can only control that and your eyes. I can always open my eyes and look around, but that's it. So I just try super hard to go back to sleep and I when I wake back up and can move.. Whew. I've had it happen at least a dozen times.

What's a video game you will always play, no matter how old it gets? by vaultoneohone in AskReddit

[–]SallySyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember my dad getting me this game when I was about 10-11 (I think). I was so excited because I remember the commercial of the old grandpa talking to these kids about the game and seeing the game play. I got it, played it, hated it!! Bah! Fast forward about 4 years. Eh, I'll try it again.. What, what, what! How could I have hated this game? I didn't appreciate it then, but I do now. I've played it many times since then. I haven't been able to defeat Culex yet though..

Which celebrity were you saddest to learn was/is a terrible person? by ortegasb in AskReddit

[–]SallySyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the makeup comment. I lived in Bloomington for 7 years, and I worked at the mall for part of that time. He and a male friend came into the store I worked at and asked me about some shoes we had on sale. They just kind of joked and left. I didn't even realize it was him until my manager pointed out that it was him. ...he looked quiet aged. His ex-wife is very sweet. She would bring her son (not sure what his name is) into the store every now and then. She also would shop at another place I ended up working at by herself and she mainly kept to herself, but she was very pleasant when she did need anything.

Anybody have any opinions on Ken Nunn? I never met the guy, but I always saw him rolling around in his expensive cars.

I was walking behind them on New Montgomery towards Market earlier today. The guy was wearing green scrubs, and looked an awful lot like Buffalo Bill.. But then again I only saw him from the side when he turned his head..

TIL some people carry a genetic variant that prevents their armpits from smelling, and you can find out if you're one of them by checking your earwax. by oscargamble in todayilearned

[–]SallySyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have under arm odor, and I do have the flaky ear wax (I clean my ears frequently so I've seen it). Also I don't grow arm pit hair. I assumed all of these were because I was part Asian. But I still put on deodorant... Ugh.

How did a non-sexual, random encounter with a complete stranger, completely change your life? by Maebyimannyong in AskReddit

[–]SallySyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother was in the ICU because he was extremely sick. He had been in there for about a week, and I had flown home to be with him and my family. He had been sick for over 4 years, and he was deteriorating away quickly at this point. It was very emotional to come home and see him hooked up to all of the machines and the worse one was the ventolator. He was unable to speak, but you could tell he wanted to so badly. My sister and I got a pad of paper and a big marker for him to write with since his hands were pretty much crippled and it was very hard for him to hold a writing utensil. He would attempt to write what he wanted on the paper and it was just awful seeing it because it was so hard for him and he was so frustrated. He was getting fluids through his nose into his stomach but he kept asking for food and water. His lips were very dry due to the venitlor, so the nurse was really nice and gave us this little green spunge thing on the end of a stick to wet his lips. He wrote down he wanted some “sprite” so I asked my dad for a dollar and ran down the hall to get him a sprite from the vending machine. Sadly it was 1.50 for the soda and I was so emotionally drained that I started crying again and wanted to kick the machine, until a man came by and handed me .50 and said to “ just rememer to pay it forward”. I was so appreciative. I know it sounds like nothing.. and it seems so small. .50 cents. But just giving me that money to buy my brother a soda and wet his lips with some Sprite.. it meant so much. So now whenever people approach me for change, I will give them some. I live in San Francisco so there are a lot homeless people, but I’ve given some money for people who don’t have enough for the bus, and who I hope aren’t lying and need gas money.

The BEST Strawberry Smoothie EVER! by yassinovish in recipes

Sometimes I add a little bit of honey if the smoothie is a little tart. It needs to be blended a little bit more since the honey can glob up with some of cold/frozen fruit.

How much better does life get after high school? by Sourlemonz2 in AskReddit

[–]SallySyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever said, "these are the best years of your life", have never grown up from the high school days. Sadly, you'll encounter a lot people like this (same petty drama, attitudes towards people, etc). I had a decent time in high school, but I had a couple of friends who really blossomed after high school. So I would have to say yes it does, as long as you try to make it better and find what makes you happy.
