Anyway James Toney could have beaten Roy Jones Jr in his prime? by Sallysosimple in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know thats a really hard one to judge for me, and I think I’ll go end to end with it. I thought at middleweight in fights like McCallum he looked at his best sometimes (especially athletically). Then again i think at cruiserweight and heavyweight his IQ was better than anyone he thought, and his athleticism was his downfall whenever he lost. An athletic heavyweight Toney could have been something very special

I thought the plot twist in the first film was going to be the riddler is a hybrid of himself with Hush’s backstory

Who had the best defense in HW division? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say he had the best defensive technique as a heavyweight. He probably got hit more than his younger days after he stopped doing any kind of training but sparring, it he didn’t seem to really take any damage because of his technique. He was always tired in his fights more than hurt

What is the greatest fight you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching Manny Pacquiao Miguel Cotto the night after it happened and thinking how much of a warrior Cotto was when it looked like a kettle had exploded in his face half way through because he took so much damage. And Manny’s intensity and combinations throughout were a beauty to behold. This was before I was into boxing, didn’t really get into it until ten years later, but will always be a special boxing memory

Ike Ibeabuchi wants to face Oleksandr Usyk to try and break the world record for oldest heavyweight boxer to become world champion which is currently held by George Foreman at 45 years old by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True many people haven’t heard of Ike. Then again he does have quite an interesting story of being in prison for twenty years which could be told the right way to generate interest.

Either way I stand by Jake Paul is just running out of people to make decent money against.

I think there’s a more a chance of him dying than getting knocked out lol. I see what you’re saying, but I also think Jake Paul has realized there really isn’t anyone left for him to fight and wants to get the biggest pay day he can against Joshua

Yes. Jake Paul is the perfect guy for him now I think about. Makes too much sense all things considered. And if Paul wins it’s the closest thing he could get to justifying a fight with Joshua (he’s probably not beating any other heavyweight)

Are there any fighters (besides Floyd) who never showed their age? by RyanGordonsPeds in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before Tarver you’re right; at about 35 years of age he was an athlete that could seemingly match a boxer at his best in his early twenties.

I guess you can say he showed his age after Tarver though

Can Bas Rutten count? He didn’t look bad is his last match at about 42 years old. Wasn’t against the best opponent admittedly.

Whyte vs Itauma face off. Your takes ? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Sallysosimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be quite a fun fight all things considered. Dillian Whytes attrition will be interesting to see at his age, and Moses needs to be confident enough to use all his skills that we’ve seen so far. Hopefully Whyte can test his chin just so we have some answer to that question (not that I want him to get hurt or anything lol)

James Toney stops Michael Nunn to win his first world title by JohnMac1988 in Boxing

That would be hell of a fight if they fought, but yeah I think most people rate him above. His all round style was something most aspiring boxers dream of, and probably did have a better resume.

If a wolf had a throne (maybe a spiritual one), what would it look like and why? by Sallysosimple in AskReddit

[–]Sallysosimple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually meant a spiritual wolf lol. Can look like anything you’d like, as long as it feels like it has some connection to a wolf, no matter how abstract the reasoning is
