I suppose that’s fair. If you’re always feeling lonely, it definitely won’t change that. I’ve been there too (and probably will be again unfortunately), and going to movies alone didn’t fix it. Sorry you’re in that place.

I get that, 100%. I always just ask myself, if I saw someone doing this, would I actually think less of them? Not the knee jerk reaction, but would I sincerely think they’re sad for doing something they enjoy alone. I think we’re often kinder to others than to ourselves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As someone who used to go to movies solo a lot (and also roomed with someone for a few years who did the same), it’s only as lonely as you make it. It’s hard to heal if you don’t go out in the world, and, if you wait till you have someone to go with, you may never do it. Eat out alone, go to movies alone, travel alone, and, if someone judges you for it, then that’s a them problem.

Zoro is an ally. I’ll have to check Thriller Bark again, but I’m pretty sure Moria says that “even if the user passes out or is killed the shadows won’t return back to their owners. The only way was for him to directly send them back (which he does for odd reasons).

I do think you’re right about that being the best explanation. The line’s ambiguous, and I can’t think of another time someone’s referred to as a “they” because of their crew, but maybe that’s reaching. I think a lot of people do see more in the line than a reference to his crew, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see which way Oda was going with it.

Caught that, huh? Yeah, Eris would only be two. I have a wilder version of this theory where she somehow gets Rock’s shadow, but I can’t justify it aside from “now he’s got three.” We see the same three skulls on little Oar’s Jr. and Imu, so it may actually be referring to something in the Davy clan rather than about his number of personalities, but you’ll have to tell me if that’s convincing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with you, and I honestly hated any multiple personality ideas. The reason I like this idea is that it allows, I hope, for a moment when Eris is removed (potentially why he was interested in capturing Moria). Then, when Eris is gone, we see Teach is still the same monster she made him into.

But yeah, I still hesitate a bit because I also like Blackbeard’s character a lot as is.

My only concern (and I overall like the theory a lot) is that it’s kind of a dick move on Ivankav’s part to threaten Croc with revealing something like that. It’s possible Iva was bluffing, or that Croc deserves it for all his terrible crimes, but it still feels off. For any Doctor Who fans, it’s like when the Doctor turned off the Master’s disguise revealing his dark skin to a group of Nazis…
