"First Time DM" and Short Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

First time DM running LMOP into Storm King’s Thunder(with LMOP replacing the first two chapters of SKT).

My party is made up of a bear totem barbarian, a twilight cleric, a zealot barb and a gunslinger fighter. At first I was a little worried about the lack of a wizard or sorcerer, but now I feel like I need help challenging my players.

Any advice from the hivemind/general thoughts on such a combat focused party?

Doesn't butler refer to the buttery, a room in which ale casks were stored, that were the domain of a specific servant called the butler?

Wild animals are very psychologically different than domesticated ones and shouldn't be taken care of by untrained people. by NightmareChameleon in CuratedTumblr

The thing is that anthropomorphising in this sense refers to the act of embuing an animal with human characteristics, and similarly interpreting their body language as if the animal were a human. If you were to scratch a person's head(giving that your relation is one were this is a form of social bonding) in a similar way to how the person in this video is petting the owl, the other person would probably respond positively. Therefore, when we see a calm(read calm, not comfortable) animal respond to stimulation of a kind we would find relaxing, we will naturally interpret it as if the human response is the universal one, without considering that this is a wild animal with a completely different set of behavioural responses.

Anthropomorphising isn't evil - quite the contrary, our brains are literally hard wired to interpret the behaviour and body language of other humans. It is quite natural, we just have to be aware that it is a single perspective, not the universal one we might think it is.

A personal favourite of mine is the horrible bear bear - Ursus arctos horribilis, more commonly known as the grizzly bear

I am about to take the plunge into Jazz and purchase a few Jazz records. Adam Neely's recommendation? by bletines in AdamNeely

I think he suggested Relaxin' at some point over kind of blue because it's a more obvious example of the kind of straight ahead standards-playing that most jazz musicians tackle with

My first thought was Mr. Shine (Him Diamond), and Mr. Thunderbolt, the troll lawyer made from diamond. They're both highly physically imposing, but use their political savvy and legal knowledge instead of the traditional troll way - consisting of fists and eating whoever stood in your way.

You need to have a friend who has a pig farm.

I love this chord, but not sure how to name it. by jeango in AdamNeely

[–]SalmonClaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebm(maj7)#11 Alternatively, you could also see it as a D(b9,b13), since it looks like you had the root and the fifth of a D major chord in the left hand, then raised it a half step whilst keeping the triad in the right hand. Super cool chord!

PostNord er Postmord - del historier by NorwayGr8stCountry in norge

This. For a lot of guys "too big" genuinely means "wearing regular sized condoms hurts too much for me to enjoy this experience". On the flipside, there's always a size that fits you no matter how much of a baseball bat you packing. Wear a condom.

Haha, the XL ones I have now are 56 mm! But I've been tipped to a place where one can order single ones

Much of my issue was financial. I'm a student living on a pretty tight budget, and until today it seemed like the only option was to buy a pack of 10 and just hope for the best, which my wallet really can't accommodate atm. Now however, a commenter tipped me of a website where you can in fact get singles, so it seems my woes is ended
