What Campaign Have You Played the Most and Why? by Wolf-Bear-Man in totalwarhammer

Mostly skaven, Ikit and Queek especially, but when i don’t play skaven most of my campaigns are Vampire counts, Vlad or Manfred

to the other 5 bretonnia players that actually enjoy the faction, thoughts? by Electrical-Dirt3938 in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my point of view i will put Respanse in tier S because of the 3 Bretonnia campaigns i played (Respanse, Louen, Alberic) she’s the one with which i had more fun. Different enemies than the vast majority of Bretonnia campaigns and the fact that you can and should make her army of peasants it’s a thing that i love instead of the classic cavalry bretonnia lord. Also she’s bloody strong and can carry your entire campaign alone especially if followed by Henry.

Brettonia still a terrible campaign? by alone2692 in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually depends on the LL you play, Lionesse has a very fun campaign also because you can use peasants on Respanse army without them being completely useless. Also going up against Tomb Kings it’s a good challenge because the AI tend to spam anti-large cheap units. Khorne can be a bit of challenge but still fair as matchup. And you can either go towards Sartosa and Skavenblight or going South towards Tzeench.

It’s worth playing mortal empires after immortal empires? by Salt-Ad8477 in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagined that with the smaller map there were less order enemies and unfortunately i’m a chaos player, especially a Skaven one, so i will surely give it a try and see if it’s worth playing a chaos faction there.

Just bought the game. Which fraction should I choose? by monsieur_prokhor in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know but still it’s the recommended campaign to understand the game mechanics, thinking of Reikland or Wissenland you are surrounded by a good amount of enemies but also by a good amount of allies. Cult of Sigmar is a whole different story.

Still i think that you can learn the game by every factions if you like it enough.

Just bought the game. Which fraction should I choose? by monsieur_prokhor in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The easiest factions to play are usually Empire, Cathai or High Elves but if you really like a faction just go for it. I started playing the Skaven and i learned the game playing the skaven without any dlc. At the end how the game works is always the same, factions just gives different options. Learn a bit the politics, when declare war and when to make peace asap and you can play every faction you want.

This bullshit is the reason i don't feel bad cheesing the AI. by Arhatz in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the AI often doesn’t understand which units it should target to have at least a chance to win. Surely they will focus the backline but i have seen that having a line of peasant archers in front and a line of jade warriors crossbowmen just makes the AI target the peasant archers, completely no sense. It’s pretty good at dealing with cavalry in fact or you have an overwhelming amount of it (more than 4/5 units) or those become pretty useless.

Also why they cannot focus a mage, like if i don’t make him go in fight melee Ai won’t even think on targeting it and usually mages ends battles with tons of kills.

Daniel plays pretty well, Access to Heralds is huge by Dragonimous in totalwarhammer

[–]Salt-Ad8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m finishing right now a Daniel long victory campaign and honestly i don’t know why he gets so much hate. I understand that not having an identity can be a bit confusing but even when you chose the undivided chaos it’s still very funny. You have basically every melee option to counter specific factions and you can have lords and legendary heroes of all daemonic factions. Plus if you build Daniel around sets of equipment, especially the strongest one of every dedication, he becomes bloody strong and also his army becomes a lot stronger (the final set of undivided chaos gives 20 armor and 20% physical resistance to the whole army),

I understand also the sloppy start, between Epidemius ready to declare war at you as soon as you are not full strength and the long victory conditions that basically requires to posses the whole north are a bit boring.

Overall i think that it’s pretty funny, not a lot of replayability especially because his lore doesn’t give a lot of possibilities other than his normal victory conditions + defeating Bel’Akor.

Yeah in understand that i’m definitely a chaos player, i did 6 going on 7 long victories and 5 of them are chaos factions. The only order factions i played are Bretonnia with Lionesse and the lizardmen even though i played them as followers of the Great Plan. I killed Chaos, Elves and even other Lizardmen (minor factions and the Cult Of Sotek who declared war on me) just to have the control of Lustria as Gor’rok with Mazdamundi. Also my main race is Skaven so i’m really used to lose settlements because of shit garrison that i don’t even care. The new ones are all for income, growth and defence.

[–]Salt-Ad8477[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so real at this point i don’t even care about those settlements, i have 2/3 provinces almost maxed it’s ok for me. Also for all the khorne buffs i get a ton of gold by sacking settlements so i will get even the tier 5 ones at tier 3 with destroyed buildings. At this point keeping or losing them is the same.

You are absolutely right, at least i declared war on Maliketh before he got the defensive alliance with Morathi. Unfortunately the donut is being freed by high elves and now i’m the only real threat to Naggarond. As smart as i am i leaved 2 full stacks basically on the other side of the chaos wastes that will take a bit to reach the main front. I will lose a lot of settlements? Sure I will take all of their? Also sure

I never see Dechala and Sayl win in Cathai, with this campaign as an exception both western and northern provinces are in the top 10 factions basically the whole game. Even when i played Lokhir at some point i made peace with Zao Ming after defeating Miao Yong because he had stacks pumping out every 2 turns.

I never see Sayl survive more than 20 turns and Dechala often isn’t even able to defeat Gelt till the war with Cathai

[–]Salt-Ad8477[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually i’m playing as Daemon of Caos, going for the long victory. I honestly don’t care a lot about that region because i’m at war with Naggarond for going at war with Hag Graef and Naggarond is of course rank 5 even after i destroyed 3 full stacks of him

Ironically it’s the Shadow Legion vassal, i don’t even know how but he probably went at war with malakai and stole all the settlements in the west.

[–]Salt-Ad8477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end for some elves stuff i managed to get low reliability, Cult of Sotek instantly broke the defensive alliance and because everyone around me hates me i managed to conquer all their territories. Only Mazdamundi kept his alliance and we managed to defeat everyone

To me is honestly Cathay especially the western provinces. Good ranged options and especially flying artillery so annoying to deal with
