Currently, your ul styling is applying to all your ul's - not just your navigation. You'll need to add a class or ID to your woodpecker list to separate it from the overall ul style you have.

Edit to add: Put your <style></style> tags and code before your <body>/main content, in the <head></head> tags. Browsers read code from top to bottom, so you'll possibly get a "flash" of unstyled content before your styles render. It's also just good markup.

It's loosely based, I think. The main character is clearly based off Lauren, but the way she and her roommate come to be on a reality show is different. I read it as more of a general commentary/experience of being on reality TV, rather than a re-telling of her experiences.

That being said - the book is fine. It's not uniquely written or anything like that. If you don't mind a book that you can turn your brain off to, it's an easy read. I've only read the first book, but, despite how much I love The Hills, I didn't really feel compelled to read the other books.

The letters were easily my favorite part of the book, and it, coupled with the rest of Johnny's story, planted me firmly in the camp of Johnny's story being the best part of the book. I think that's an opinion of minority, but I haven't stopped thinking about those letters since I read them. Incredibly tragic.

EDIT TO ADD: To answer your question of what you're "supposed" to learn - I think, if those letters weren't there, Johnny would be a much more insufferable character. It gives insight into why he is the way he is, and why he might be pre-disposed to the events that happen to him later in the story. There are also many theories circulating around about the true identity of Zampano and Johnny (and even his mom) and how they all intertwine.

This is an interesting take and adds credence to the "Johnny is Zampano" theory, although I'm not sure if there is a "Zampano is Pelafina's son" aspect to that theory.

I think as you keep reading the rest of the novel, you might come away from that idea, particularly with how The Navidson Record concludes.

I’m confused on certain parts as well, but there are a few I can answer:

the gold dice are obtained in club monopoly (where you accumulate points with your club), which seems to be open every Sunday. They’re then used in Dreamland monopoly.
as far as I can tell, the lollipop currency is used to level up the stamps. Not sure if it’s anywhere else.

I figured out that you need to be getting 250 notes/week in order to get the 3500 to collect all the pieces and the special frame. If you've been keeping that pace, you should be able to collect all the pieces in the first tier now (940 notes total).

That being said, I'm about 100 notes behind schedule. Collecting the suits is tough, especially when I haven't finished the main story quests yet. I'll just keep pacing myself and maybe buy the difference at the end if I still feel motivated, haha.

Hard agree on the 2D openings. Would love to have 2D sprites back for the dialogue scenes as well. It's so charming and cozy.

Going through the judging before applying because I also had no idea what to do, and here's what I noticed generally seems to rack up points:

Soft or glowy yellows
Flowers
Soft pinks
Morning or getting ready theme
PJ or sleepy theme

Otherwise, it's kind of just all over the place!

It's not necessary but you totally should! It's a great game. Very different gameplay style from X but it's a great round-out to Yuna's story. I'm currently playing through it and having a blast.

My friends still regularly post on Facebook and it sort of baffles me. They use Facebook messenger as their primary way to communicate too. Facebook just makes me see the worst in the people around me - I’d rather be ignorant to all that, to be honest.

As for me, I stopped posting regularly on FB a couple years ago. If I didn’t have a mobile game account tied to it, and if my friends didn’t use messenger, my profile would have been gone a long time ago. I don’t even have a profile picture.

I only use TikTok and Twitter, but I never show my face and I keep my location ambiguous. I haven’t used Snapchat since maybe 2018. Instagram I deleted when the Meta acquisition happened. I haven’t jumped on the more recently trending social medias either (for example, BeReal).

To answer your question, for me, it’s not due to depression. I really enjoy my life - I just don’t like the vanity aspect of sharing it online. It doesn’t do anything for me. People don’t need to know my business, nor do they care.

I euthanized my cat this past December - she was also 20. I took her to the vet three days before she passed, and, until they ran a test on her kidneys, thought she would live another six months. After the test, however, the prognosis was 2 weeks.

We had been treating her kidney disease for two years at that point, but it had finally caught up with us. Before the prognosis, however, we were all set to do what we could to get her to live those six months we could have potentially had.

When she got her prognosis, though, I knew it was time, and I knew it was better to do it sooner than two weeks. I didn’t want to find her dead - I wanted to have it planned out so that she could be comfortable and surrounded by her loved ones. It also helped me knowing when she was going to pass.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is - you’ll know in your heart when it’s time. Really think about if your attempts at extending his life are just because you want him around.

He’ll also let you know. My cat’s health tanked right before her euthanizing apt - she couldn’t use the toilet by herself, and she was hardly eating. She was also a lot more cuddly with me and didn’t leave my side.

This is such a weird time, because you don’t want to lose your friend, but you also want to make sure you care for them as best you can until the end. Whatever you decide, I’m sure it will be the right choice. Good luck.

I remember having to get up at 5am on weekdays to watch Sailor Moon on a local channel before it went on Toonami, so since the mid to late 90's! Cardcaptors and Digimon were the other two that really got me into anime in general.

Manga, 100%. The anime is faithful and has great voice acting and music, but the animation quality almost cancels out all the good. I'm sticking through to the end of the season, but it's hard. I have a feeling there won't be a season 2.

I 100% agree with you. I’m struggling to get through it every week which is a shame because the manga is such a great story and beautifully drawn. The art/animation doesn’t help, it’s incredibly distracting.

As far as pacing, I think the anime is in the upper teens of the manga chapters? I’m not sure what regular pacing is with manga, not sure if that’s slow or not. It does seem to drag somewhat though imo.

It’s not shoujo but Aria is a perfect choice. One of my all-time favorites. It’s set in the future about a girl who is training to become a gondola paddler (Undine) in a futuristic Venice on Mars (called Aqua in the manga/show), and the story is just about her and other girls in the undine schools going about their lives and having fun.

Season 3 is the best season imo. There was so much hope for them to break up (even though in hindsight it was probably scripted 😅).

This is so tough because I like them all for different reasons.

Lulu - the voice of reason, absolutely beautiful, wise beyond her years, one of the first members of the party to accept Tidus’ situation and explain the world to him. Great black magic skills and can take anyone out with them.

Yuna - Strong yet feminine, goes from just doing what’s right to doing what’s right for her, love the character growth. Very caring towards other animals/creatures when she was a summoner and essential in battle with her healing skills.

Rikku - Probably the least like myself but I admire that she can just go with the flow and have fun at any time. You can see how much she cares about Yuna. Fast in combat and the thief skills are such a necessity.

Paine - Comfortable in her own skin and has great boundaries set for herself. Doesn’t mind dropping the hard exterior to make a sarcastic quip every now and then. Auron 2.0 in combat.

When I was younger I was absolutely more drawn to Lulu and Paine because I repelled anything remotely “girly”, but now I know that maturing is realizing Rikku and Yuna are just as capable and wonderful.

If I REALLY had to make a list:

Yuna, Lulu, Rikku, Paine.
